Grace reveals first look at Robert Glenister as he joins cast of season 4

As a dedicated cinephile with a penchant for British detective dramas, I must say that the addition of Robert Glenister to ITV’s Grace series is a delightful surprise! Having followed his illustrious career from Hustle and Spooks to more recent roles like The Night Caller, I am eagerly anticipating his performance as Gavin Daly.

As a dedicated fan of British dramas and having followed “Grace” since its inception, I am absolutely thrilled to learn that Robert Glenister is set to join the cast for its fourth season! With his rich acting background and undeniable talent, I have no doubt that he will bring an exciting new dynamic to the show. It’s always a delight to see fresh faces joining beloved series, and I can hardly wait to see how Robert fits into the world of “Grace.” This addition is sure to make season four one of the most eagerly anticipated yet!

In the debut episode of the upcoming season, Glenister will portray Gavin Daly, a character whose background is still unknown. Notably, Glenister is widely recognized for his extensive work in theatre, as well as numerous television series such as Hustle, Spooks, Sherwood, and most recently, The Night Caller.

Although it’s unclear exactly what role he’ll play in the upcoming seasons of Grace, there’s no doubt that his inclusion in the show will add another thrilling incentive for viewers to catch up on the new episodes.

In the photos, it appears that Gavin (played by Glenister) and Grace (played by Simm) are engaging in a rather intense discussion. Could this be indicative of Gavin being involved in a developing mystery or case?

The first episode of season 4, titled “Dead Man’s Time,” begins with a significant burglary at a remote residence, which later evolves into an investigation aimed at discovering the location of valuable artifacts.

According to the summary (from TVZone): “As Grace delves deeper into this intriguing crime, he uncovers a complex network of long-standing grudges. This tangled web guides him through a dangerous and deadly path within the antiques scene in Brighton as he races against time to decipher who is at the core of this theft and provide Gavin Daly the answers he’s been seeking for years.”

Filming began for the fourth season in May, as it was already confirmed for a fourth season before the third one was even aired. Similarly, we can anticipate a fifth season of the ITV series since its renewal happened prior to the release of season 4. So, there’s much more excitement ahead!

In the detective series set in Brighton, John Simm reprises his role as Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, while Richie Campbell steps into the character of DS Glenn Branson, Zoë Tapper takes on the part of Cleo Morey, and Craig Parkinson joins the cast as DS Norman Potting. This line-up is reminiscent of performances in Top Boy, Liar, and Line of Duty respectively.

Among the familiar faces set to reappear are Laura Elphinstone (from Chernobyl), playing DS Bella Moy; Brad Morrison (Dinosaur series); and Sam Hoare (The Capture), portraying ACC Cassian Pewe.

Four upcoming episodes will be based on the following four books from Peter James’ novel series.

Earlier, Craig Parkinson, the lead actor from the show, discussed the conclusion of season 4 and hinted at the upcoming finale by drawing comparisons with his new series, “Mrs. Sidhu Investigates.”

He mentioned: “Grace is the exact opposite of Mrs. Sidhu [Investigates]. It’s the shady, grimy side of Brighton, and this season’s finale of Grace reaches its most unsettling conclusion. That’s about all I can share regarding that matter.”

Grace is available to watch on ITVX.
