As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for action-adventure games and a deep affection for the Monsterverse, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement upon hearing about Kong: Survivor Instinct. Having grown up watching Godzilla and Kong movies, the prospect of stepping into their world and experiencing their battles from a unique perspective is nothing short of tantalizing.
7Levels, the developer, has unveiled “Kong: Survivor Instinct” for PC, PS5, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. This upcoming action-adventure game, featuring the legendary monster, is being created in partnership with Legendary Entertainment. The release date is yet to be confirmed, but we can expect it later this year. A sneak peek of the game, including gameplay footage, has already been released. Notably, the story unfolds shortly after the events of “Godzilla vs. Kong”.
In this game scenario, a sudden and unexpected Titan assault triggers urgent evacuation attempts. However, not everyone manages to reach safety before the destruction takes place. The story unfolds as you, the player, find yourself caught amidst the turmoil of warring monsters in a crumbling city. Your beloved daughter is one of those trapped within its falling ruins.
The game’s official summary goes like this: “Kong: Survivor Instinct” is an action-adventure game with a 2.5D perspective, offering realistic platforming challenges, intense combat sequences, and exploration reminiscent of the metroidvania genre, all within an exhilarating survival journey fitting for the Monsterverse franchise.
Under the banner of Legendary Entertainment, Kong: Survivor Instinct is set to launch their venture into the gaming world, marking the start of a series of Monsterverse video games that have been hinted at. In simpler terms, this means that after giving us a taste, they are ready to unveil more Monsterverse games.
