As a die-hard fan who has been through countless iterations of the Final Fantasy series since the 90s, I can confidently say that the news of Final Fantasy XVI coming to PC next month is music to my ears! The game’s stunning visuals and immersive storytelling have already captivated PlayStation 5 players, and I can hardly wait to experience it on my trusted gaming rig.
Square Enix has confirmed that “Final Fantasy XVI” will indeed be available on PC platforms, and it’s arriving sooner than many might have expected. After debuting “Final Fantasy XVI” exclusively on PlayStation 5 last year, Square Enix signaled their intention to eventually port the game to PC. Following the release of the “The Rising Tide” DLC earlier this year, gamers playing on PC will get their hands on “FFXVI” in roughly a month’s time.
In the latest trailer, Square Enix revealed that “Final Fantasy XVI” will hit shelves next month, specifically on September 17th. Excitingly, the PC version of this game will be accessible not just on Steam but also on the Epic Games Store. What’s more, you can grab a copy for only $49.99. Pre-orders for “Final Fantasy XVI” on PC are now open, and to sweeten the deal, Square Enix has even made a demo of the game available for download and immediate play.
You can get a look at the latest trailer for Final Fantasy XVI on PC right here:
“Final Fantasy XVI boasts an overwhelming number of positive aspects that far outshine its minor flaws. Although I have some valid concerns about the structure of quests and the arrangement of the world within FF XVI, these issues are easily overshadowed by the epic boss battles and immersive gameplay. Despite the fluctuations in quality throughout the Final Fantasy series over the past ten years, Final Fantasy XVI stands as a testament to its enduring greatness and serves as a reminder of why this franchise remains so revered.”
As Final Fantasy XVI transitions to PC gaming, speculation is inevitable about the future of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on this platform. At present, Square Enix has not expressed plans to bring Rebirth to PC, but its PS5 exclusivity period has ended. Given that Final Fantasy VII Remake was previously ported to PC, it’s highly likely that Rebirth will eventually appear on Steam and the Epic Games Store. However, whether this release occurs before 2024 ends is still uncertain.
