Tina Knowles is laying her cards down, down, down, down about Beyoncé and Jay-Z‘s twins.
The fashion designer, who is the mother of the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer, couldn’t contain her excitement as she praised Rumi Carter and Sir Carter, both aged 7, as they each nurture their individual interests and passions.
In an exclusive interview with Francesca Amiker from TopMob News on August 17 at the Remember My Name Ball hosted by Debbie Allen, Jordan Cooper, and Jack Mizrahi, Tina shared that “Rumi has a natural brightness about him,” and added that he is “more inclined towards books and electronics” instead.
Contemplating their diverse interests, ranging from art to science, the 70-year-old mused, “We managed to foster a well-rounded upbringing for them.”
As a lifestyle expert, I firmly believe that an emerging creative talent such as yourself, Rumi, won’t miss out on your chance to shine if you decide to tread the path of my young role model, Blue Ivy Carter, by becoming a backup dancer for your mother, just like she did. The stage is yours to conquer!
“They’re all artists,” she gushed. “How could they not?”
However, Tina observed that her grandchildren are not accustomed to bragging about their abilities, as even Blue requested her to promise confidentiality regarding her secret piano skills.
Still, the matriarch is “blown away” by the tween, who is costarring alongside Beyoncé in Mufasa: The Lion King.
Tina went on saying, “She doesn’t have formal training, yet her piano playing is reminiscent of a concert virtuoso. She creates art through painting, drawing, and poetry; she’s simply a creative spirit at heart.”
She added, “I’m really, really proud of her. I can’t wait ’til the world gets to really hear.”
Tina strongly encourages future artists to pursue their dreams, which is why she was so excited to back the Remember My Name Ball – an annual dance event in a ballroom setting that additionally supports the Debbie Allen Dance Academy.
“I find this spot particularly significant,” I shared with TopMob during our charity dance encounter. “Debbie Allen, a woman I’ve long admired for her dancing prowess and cultural contributions, is associated with it. Whenever she reaches out to me, I make it a point to be present!”

Beyoncé featured daughter Rumi Carter on her new country album Cowboy Carter.
The fourth track, titled “Protector”, commences with Rumi requesting, “Mom, could you play my bedtime song, please?” This segment then transitions into a heartfelt acoustic melody expressing her profound affection for her offspring.
During her twin pregnancy, the acclaimed singer delivered an outstanding performance at the 2017 Grammy Awards. Without a doubt, Rumi and Sir Carter enjoyed the most privileged viewing positions!
One month after giving birth to her twins, the happy mother shared her joy on Instagram by expressing her love for them. Her post read, “Today marks one month with Sir Carter and Rumi.”
