As a seasoned gamer with a library filled to the brim with Civilization games, the announcement of Civilization 7 has me more excited than a kid on Christmas Eve! The leaked release date of February 11, 2025, seems like an eternity, but I’ll do my best to contain my excitement (and possibly my sanity).
2K recently confirmed that Civilization 7 will release sometime during the first quarter of 2025, and it appears that the exact launch date may have been accidentally revealed prematurely. We expect an official announcement regarding the release date soon.
According to a well-known leaker named billbil-kun on Twitter, it appears that Civilization 7 is scheduled for release on February 11 of next year. The leaked information indicates that the standard edition will cost $69.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, while being priced at $59.99 on Nintendo Switch. The deluxe edition, on the other hand, is said to retail for $99.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with a price tag of $89.99 on Nintendo Switch. It’s also been suggested that the deluxe edition will offer early access to players starting from February 6, giving them five days to start playing before the official release date.
As a gamer, I’m guessing that the price for this game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will likely match its price on Nintendo Switch. However, I don’t have any information yet about how much it might cost on PC.
We’re anticipating that we’ll get some answers soon, as Civilization 7 is scheduled to be presented at Gamescom Opening Night Live tonight, where we can expect updates on its release. Additionally, 2K and Firaxis will give a detailed look into the gameplay later today, while August 21 has been marked for a more in-depth showcase during Future Games Show.
