As a gamer with over two decades of zombie-slaying experience under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Dying Light: The Beast has me more than just a little excited! Ever since Kyle Crane first appeared on our screens back in 2015, I’ve been eagerly awaiting another adventure with him.
Techland has revealed a fresh addition to the popular zombie survival series, Dying Light. While work on Dying Light 2 is ongoing, during Gamescom Opening Night Live, they also showcased a separate game called Dying Light: The Beast. This standalone installment promises a thrilling new 20-hour experience centered around zombie combat. Originally conceived as a story expansion for Dying Light 2, it has since grown into a full title in its own right.
Notably, the protagonist Kyle Crane from both “Dying Light” and its expansion “Dying Light: The Following” will return as the main character once more. Voice actor Roger Craig Smith is set to reprise his role in this upcoming game. In the storyline, Kyle manages to escape captivity following thirteen years of experiments. The players’ objective now becomes helping him seek revenge. However, it is later revealed that there may be more at stake than just revenge.
In this game, players can unleash fierce abilities during combat, and four-player teamwork is also an option. Notably, those who own the ultimate edition of Dying Light 2 will receive Dying Light: The Beast at no extra charge, since it was initially developed as downloadable content for the original title.
Development on “Dying Light: The Beast” is underway for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Keep an eye out as a launch date will be revealed later this year. Stay updated!
