As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent looting and shooting my way through the colorful worlds of Pandora, I can hardly contain my excitement for the announcement of Borderlands 4! With three stellar installments under its belt, the franchise has become synonymous with cooperative mayhem, witty dialogue, and an endless array of exotic weaponry.
The Borderlands franchise struggled in its transition to film, but fans of the series have much to anticipate. Following numerous hints, Borderlands 4 has finally been confirmed, and it made a grand debut as the opening announcement during Gamescom Opening Night Live.
The cinematic teaser trailer isn’t very informative, as neither 2K nor Gearbox has disclosed specifics about the game title. However, they have confirmed that players will once again assume the role of Vault Hunters and embark on a journey to a completely new planet. Aside from this, details are limited; you can watch the announcement trailer below.
It’s expected that Borderlands 4 will debut in the year 2025 on platforms such as PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A concrete release date has not been disclosed just yet. Keep an eye out for further announcements and details within the upcoming weeks and months.
