As a seasoned survivor of countless haunted islands and dark, twisted corridors, I can’t help but feel a shiver of anticipation running down my spine at the unveiling of Tarsier Studios‘ new horror IP, Reanimal. The teaser was as chilling as a midnight breeze, reminding me all too keenly of my harrowing experiences with Little Nightmares 1 and 2.
As a gamer, I’ve been left on edge after Tarsier Studios subtly hinted at their upcoming horror game. But during the Gamescom Opening Night Live, they finally unveiled its name: Reanimal. The narrative revolves around me and my sibling setting out on a dangerous journey to rescue our friends and flee from this horrifying island. You can watch the thrilling reveal trailer below.
The gameplay closely resembles that of both Little Nightmares 1 and 2, as the duo delves into eerie, gloomy settings. A variety of terrors manifest, one being a colossal creature chasing them on an oddly small tricycle. The size of this creature is awe-inspiring, with far-reaching vistas and bizarre landscapes evident across the island, showcased through long draw distances and surreal environments.
The game “Reanimal” doesn’t have a specified release date yet, but it will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Similar to the upcoming “Little Nightmares 3”, this game supports online cooperative play for two players. Interestingly, it also offers local multiplayer mode, although you can still enjoy it single-handedly. Keep an eye out for more information about the game and future updates at Gamescom Opening Night Live.
