Pokemon Go Teasing Ponyta Community Day for September

As a seasoned Pokemon Go trainer with countless hours logged and numerous rare catches under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Community Day event featuring Ponyta and its Galarian variant! The teaser Niantic released has me buzzing like a wildfire, reminding me of the thrill of the hunt for that elusive Shiny Pokemon.

A hint for a fresh Community Day event in Pokemon Go has been dropped by Niantic. So far, they’ve only shared a brief teaser video on social media showcasing both the original Kanto Ponyta and its Galarian counterpart. Based on the Community Day schedule disclosed last week, we’re looking at September 14th as the likely date for this event. The specific hour hasn’t been unveiled yet, but typically it runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in local time. This upcoming event will kick off the first of three Community Days in the new season starting on September 3rd.

Currently, Niantic has shared limited information regarding the upcoming season of Pokemon Go, but it’s generally believed that the focus will revolve around the Galar region from Pokemon Sword and Shield. It’s almost certain that Dynamax and Gigantamax features, along with Pokemon such as Morpeko, Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble, are coming. Choosing a Pokemon with a Galarian variant for the initial Community Day of the month could be another strong indication of this season’s theme, although Niantic has yet to confirm it officially.

What Does Shiny Ponyta Look Like?

Regarding Pokemon originating from Kanto, Ponyta boasts one of the more eye-catching Shiny forms. The base color of the Pokemon remains its usual tan hue, but the distinctive feature – its flames – take on a striking blue shade instead of the conventional red and orange. This Shiny version is quite appealing, and it’s definitely worth pursuing during Community Day in Pokemon Go. When Shiny Ponyta evolves into Shiny Rapidash, those blue flames transform into a more vivid purple color.

Regardless if it’s the regular or Shiny form you encounter, Galarian Ponyta maintains its bright white body color. Instead, the usual purple hair has been replaced with a lighter cream shade in this variant. This color scheme is also reflected in the Galarian Rapidash. To summarize, while the Shiny Galarian Ponyta isn’t as striking as its Kanto counterpart, it still outshines some others!
