Towerborne Will be Free-to-Play, Initial Early Access Release Will Miss Xbox

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience under my belt, I must say that the news about Towerborne has piqued my interest. Initially, I was eagerly awaiting its release on Xbox, but alas, it seems I’ll have to wait a bit longer for that. On the brighter side, the early access version is coming soon to Steam, which is a platform I frequent quite often.

It was initially scheduled for this year as planned, but there has been a substantial shift in Towerborne’s release strategy. As of late, it has been disclosed that this cooperative action-adventure game will debut in early access format first. Following this announcement, Microsoft and the developers at Stoic Studio have shared additional details about the game.

Initially, it’s unfortunate for Xbox users to know that Towerborne’s early access launch next month will exclusively be on Steam. The exact release date hasn’t been disclosed yet, but Stoic and Microsoft have confirmed that the game will eventually become available on Xbox Game Preview at a later time.

Furthermore, it has been verified that “Towerborne” will indeed be a completely free-to-play game once it’s fully launched next year. However, there will be an option for a Founder’s Pack available with the early access release.

According to game director Daniel McLaren, “The Founder’s pack allows us to identify issues gradually and focus on them promptly.” Additionally, it invites a dedicated group of players who are passionate about the game, who support Stoic, and who want to contribute to the development and future growth of Towerborne.

“Towerborne is currently being worked on for both Xbox Series X/S and personal computers. Its early access version will be available on Steam starting from September 10.”
