WWE NXT Adds Two Major Title Matches to No Mercy

As a lifelong fan who’s seen more wrestling matches than I can count, let me tell you, this year’s NXT No Mercy is shaping up to be a spectacle! The Gauntlet Elimination match and the main event have set the stage for some epic showdowns. The clash between Oba Femi and Tony D’Angelo for the North American Championship promises fireworks, and the rematch of Chase U versus Axiom and Nathan Frazer for the Tag Team Titles is a fight I can’t wait to witness again.

Tonight’s NXT episode brought us closer to the NXT No Mercy event, with many matches on the card being confirmed. Early in the show, a Gauntlet Elimination match determined Roxanne Perez’s challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship. The main event revealed that TNA’s Joe Hendry will challenge Ethan Page for the NXT Championship. Throughout the episode, there were hints of other title matches, and by the end of the night, these contests were officially added to the card – including a North American Championship fight between Oba Femi and Tony D’Angelo, as well as a rematch for the Tag Team Titles.

A Clash of Titans

WWE NXT Adds Two Major Title Matches to No Mercy

In this segment, the No Quarter Catch Team appeared, only to be met by NXT North American Champion Oba Femi. Femi boasted that he’s faced numerous contenders in NXT, and he’d welcome a bout against a Heritage Cup Champion down the line as well. However, their conversation was cut short when The Family, who has past connections with No Quarter Catch Team, stepped in. Over the last few months, they’ve actually shown a friendly demeanor towards them.

As I stepped into the ring, I couldn’t help but call out Charlie Dempsey as “mini Don,” a nickname that seemed to suggest he was expecting our rematch for the Heritage Cup. After all, he had defeated my character for the title previously, thanks to Wren Sinclair’s involvement.

The confrontation between D’Angelo and Femi ensued, resulting in a tense standoff, during which Femi initiated the conflict by attacking The Don with a kick, followed by a powerbomb setup. D’Angelo managed to retaliate, knocking Femi back and executing a powerbomb of his own, leaving the Champion stunned and astonishing the spectators. Later, D’Angelo seized Femi’s Title and hinted at potential future developments as the match was eventually confirmed in the episode.

Round 2

The episode featured a repeat of the Great American Bash clash, which was the second main title match. Earlier in the program, Axiom and Nathan Frazer had an encounter with Chase U, who previously defeated them for the Tag Team Championships. Chase U hinted that if Axiom and Frazer could overcome Duke Hudson and Riley Osborne, they might earn another opportunity to challenge for those titles at No Mercy, and indeed, that’s what transpired. Determined, Axiom and Frazer were on a quest, and despite Hudson and Osborne giving a tough fight, the original champions emerged victorious.

In the latter part of the show, it became official that the title rematch would take place at No Mercy. Therefore, Andre Chase and Ridge Holland will defend their titles against Axiom and Frazer. The initial clash between these teams was incredible, and this upcoming match could be equally impressive or even surpass it. Here’s a look at the complete lineup for No Mercy.
