As a seasoned gamer with decades under my belt and a soft spot for the classics, I can’t help but feel a surge of nostalgia upon hearing about Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The return of Mai Shiranui, one of my all-time favorites, in a fresh biker outfit is just the cherry on top!
At Gamescom, SNK disclosed an abundance of facts about “Fatal Fury: City of Wolves,” such as its release date, specifics on the Special Edition, and the announcement of the first Season Pass. To add to the excitement, they also unveiled a new character trailer featuring Mai Shiranui. You can watch it below.
In a fresh biker-inspired attire (but her traditional Gi can still be chosen), Mai frequently appears in “The King of Fighters” and major “Fatal Fury” installments. Employing the Shiranui-ryuu martial art, she combines swift strikes with ninjutsu techniques such as creating shadow duplicates to confuse her adversaries. Mai is not only proficient in pyrokinesis, but can transform fire into explosions or boost her attacks by using it.
So far, we’ve unveiled 11 characters from the game roster, with an additional 6 still to be announced. The highly anticipated game Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is set to launch on April 24th, 2025, and will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC platforms. Pre-orders come with a special Terry Bogard outfit from Fatal Fury 2, as well as early access to the game starting April 21st.
