Dragon Ball Super Artist Inks New Sketch of Goku vs Jackie Chun

As a seasoned gamer and lifelong Dragon Ball fan, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia upon seeing Toyotaro’s latest artwork. It’s like stepping back into my childhood, reliving the moments when Goku was still a kid, searching for dragon balls and participating in martial arts tournaments.

As Dragon Ball Daimao readies for its autumn TV debut, the artist behind Dragon Ball Super has seized the opportunity to revisit Son Goku’s younger days, prior to the spin-off’s initial episode. Known as Toyotaro, this devoted shonen franchise fan made his mark in the manga world through a fan comic that presented an innovative twist on the Z-Fighters. With the unfortunate demise of creator Akira Toriyama, the future of Dragon Ball Super’s manga is uncertain. Fortunately, Toyotaro is eager to create new artwork in anticipation of Goku and his companions’ potential return.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of watching the original Dragon Ball series yet, let me fill you in on a classic tale from young Goku’s life. As a kid, he embarked on an exciting journey, hunting for dragon balls and participating in intense martial arts competitions. In one such tournament, he encountered a mysterious newcomer named Jackie Chun. However, little did Goku know that this seemingly unknown fighter was actually his master, Roshi, who donned a wig to disguise himself and challenge his student. This secret battle between student and teacher ended with “Chun” emerging victorious, teaching Goku a valuable lesson: there’s always more to learn on the path to becoming stronger.

Dragon Ball: The Good Old Days

Toyotaro recently posted fresh artwork, further demonstrating his artistic prowess and signaling that the pause in Dragon Ball Super‘s manga would persist. After reimagining Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and the ensuing conflicts post Cell Max’s destruction, fans have been left pondering what lies ahead for the shonen series. Although this new art doesn’t provide any clues about when the manga might resume, it serves as a testament to Toyotaro’s enduring passion for the franchise.

As a longtime fan of Dragon Ball Z and a dedicated manga reader, I eagerly await each new issue to catch up with Goku and his friends. I was thrilled when I saw Toyotaro’s latest illustration featuring Goku vs Jackie Chun! The detail and energy in the artwork truly capture their iconic styles. Unfortunately, it seems that we’ll have to wait another month for more of the Dragon Ball Super manga, but I’m confident that it will be worth it. In my experience, Toyotaro never disappoints with his captivating storytelling and dynamic fight scenes!

The upcoming series, Dragon Ball Daima, promises to transport us back in time as Son and his allies undergo a transformation into their youthful selves. While we’re still trying to figure out the reasoning behind this wish on the dragon balls, the promotional materials hint that it might not have been entirely selfless.
