As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must admit that the new Xbox consoles have piqued my interest. The sleek design of these devices, particularly the Xbox Series X 2 TB Galaxy Black Special Edition, has left me impressed. The classic Xbox coloration and star-inspired details are a nice touch, giving it a unique aesthetic appeal that stands out in the crowded gaming console market.
On October 15th, three fresh Xbox models will hit the market, each presenting unique spins on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. This release is strategically timed to attract gamers who intend to purchase Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on its debut day. Xbox has recently unveiled a new trailer displaying glimpses of both the game and the new console features. Among these features, introduced during the June Xbox Showcase, are the Xbox Series X 2 TB Galaxy Black Special Edition, the Xbox Series X 1 TB Digital Edition (White), and the Xbox Series S 1 TB (White). Pre-orders for all three consoles can now be placed on the Microsoft Store.
The new trailer for these three new Xbox consoles can be found below.
The new console options are pretty sleek. The Xbox Series X looks great in white, but I’m more partial to the Galaxy Black, personally. I tend to prefer having a disc option, and the green on the console’s stand and the back of the controller gives it more of a classic Xbox coloration. The star-inspired green and white specks found across the system’s body are also a nice touch. I’m pretty happy with my black launch console, but if I were in need of a new Xbox, that’s probably the option I would lean towards!
Despite the sleek appearance of these latest systems, it’s uncertain how many people will decide to purchase one due to their history in this console generation. The Xbox Series X and Series S have been available for four years, and a new design might not entice those who have been hesitant about buying. It’s well-known that Xbox has faced challenges in attracting an audience during the current console era, and it hasn’t been easy considering many of its exclusive games are also being released on competitors like Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. This trend began earlier this year and will continue until 2025 with “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” being launched on PS5 several months after its debut on Xbox. While Xbox Game Pass remains console-exclusive, there are now ways to access it without owning a system as well.
