Atomfall Developer Discusses Influences and Set-up in New Gameplay Trailer

As a seasoned survivor of countless post-apocalyptic worlds, my heart skipped a beat when I saw the tantalizing trailer for Atomfall during the Future Games Show. The hauntingly familiar setting of a nuclear wasteland, the enigmatic protagonist, and the promise of hidden clues about one’s past – it’s like Rebellion has been eavesdropping on my gaming sessions!

Following an in-depth presentation during Xbox’s livestream at Gamescom, I was thrilled to witness the release of a fresh gameplay trailer for Rebellion’s “Atomfall” at the Future Games Show. Ben Fisher, the associate head of design, offers insightful details about this survival action title, accompanied by fresh gameplay footage. Don’t miss out on it below!

When you check out the game called Atomfall, it’s likely that series like Metro and Fallout might pop up in your thoughts. This resemblance is deliberate, as Fisher also mentions BioShock as an inspiration. In this game, players find themselves in a secret bunker and explore a quarantine zone set after the 1957 Windscale nuclear disaster in Britain. Yet, their personal identity remains unknown.

As you explore the world, there are numerous hints about your past that can be uncovered. You’ll gather gear, weapons, and resources by scavenging along the way. Be careful though, not everyone inside the zone shares your peaceful intentions. Fisher acknowledges that the team handles challenges differently and verifies the availability of accessibility features.

The game titled “Atomfall” will be released in March 2025, available for play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and personal computers (PC). Additionally, it’ll be accessible through Game Pass from its launch day.
