Richard Armitage officially confirms “daunting and exciting” Geneva TV series

As a cinephile with over three decades of film and literature consumption under my belt, I must say that Richard Armitage‘s foray into audiobooks is nothing short of captivating. His latest announcement about the television adaptation of his first audiobook, Geneva, has me eagerly awaiting the small-screen version.

Excitedly speaking as a devoted cinephile, I can’t help but share some thrilling news! Richard Armitage, my favorite actor, has just unveiled the second audiobook, “The Cut,” available on Audible. But here’s what truly sets my heart racing – an adaptation of his first audiobook is soon to grace our TV screens! Can’t wait for this incredible journey!

Ever since the initial release of his audiobook, Geneva, Armitage has openly expressed his aspirations for it to be brought to life on the big screen. Last year, he disclosed that he’s been collaborating with Sony in an effort to locate a talented screenwriter to pen the scripts.

He admitted that he signed the documents today, which is something he hasn’t done in a while. However, it’s worth noting that we’ve been working on it with Sony for approximately a year. We’ve been discussing turning it into a television series during this time.

“So that’s on the cards, that’s going to happen.”

Armitage added, “It’s both intimidating and exhilarating since I can now revisit parts of this tale that left me somewhat unsatisfied due to the fact that a story is never truly completed. If given the chance, I would revise those sections.”

“In fact, I’m passing on this task to a screenwriter, who can help us refine the narrative, make adjustments as needed, and ultimately bring the story to life.”

In the audio adaptation of Geneva, Armitage and Nicola Walker lend their voices, narrating the tale about a distinguished scientist who won the Nobel Prize and her spouse embarking on a crucial journey to Switzerland for a significant meeting.

During their stay, they found themselves immersed in the groundbreaking endeavors of the mysterious figure, Mauritz Schiller, leading to a thrilling, risky situation.

Simultaneously, Jacob Dudman joins him in a fresh audiobook titled The Cut. This narrative unfolds across two timeframes. It delves into the architect’s past where he was bullied, leading to a tragic incident, and his present, where his son is acting in a horror film. However, his growing suspicions make him question the genuine intentions of the movie’s creators.

Geneva and The Cut are both available to listen to on Audible.
