Glen Powell Looks Unrecognizable in Must-See TV Transformation

Oh, Glen Powell! The man who once graced our screens as the dashing pilot Goose in Top Gun: Maverick, now transforms himself into Chad Powers, a college football quarterback with a mysterious past. I’ve always admired actors who dive deep into their roles and it seems like Glen is doing just that.

Glen Powell, is that you?

On August 21st, the actor who played a major role in Twister underwent a significant transformation while filming his latest project, Chad Powers, in Atlanta. The change was nearly indistinguishable from his previous appearance.

In the images, Glen was depicted with long hair and a blue Nike top, accompanied by yellow shorts. However, the most striking change was noticeable in his face – at 34 years old, he seemed to be wearing a fake nose and a particularly thin mustache.

The upcoming Hulu series, still without a confirmed release date, is inspired by Eli Manning’s ESPN+ skit. In this series, Glen plays college football quarterback Russ Holliday who gets expelled from his team due to misconduct. However, he disguises himself and joins a struggling Southern football team as the charming and skilled Chad Powers, as reported by Deadline.

The program features Steve Zahn, Toby Huss, and Perry Mattfeld as co-stars, while both Glen and Eli, alongside Eli’s brother Peyton Manning, hold the producer roles.

Glen also offered a glimpse behind-the-scenes, posting the show’s inaugural Instagram update to his Stories on August 20th, with the caption, “Let’s play!”

And the Set Up star is already getting into the football mindset, taking some time to joke around with the original Chad Powers himself.

On his show, The Eli Manning Show, Eli playfully commented on May 23rd: “I’m unsure if I enjoy you imitating Chad Powers, you know. In a way, I am Chad Powers myself.”

As a devoted admirer, I eagerly rejoined the conversation with my own response: “Indeed, it’s Chad versus Chad, friend. Let me clarify, I’m not here to outshine you, quite the contrary, I aim to uphold your legacy. This is simply my approach.”

Glen mentioned that he was diligently learning the approach taken by the ex-New York Giants – from a performance and athletic perspective. Eli humorously commented, “It seems like you’ve mastered all those interceptions, right?”

The NFL star even poked some fun at Glen’s famous football scene in Top Gun: Maverick, prompting Glen to reply, “We’ve been over this before, you’ve never throw a football covered in coconut oil.”

However, Eli firmly believes he could have succeeded in the movie, jokingly commenting, “Apparently, they chose you to play Chad because our bodies are similar in shape.”
