ComicBook Nation’s The Pull List: Ultimate Spider-Man’s Sinister Six and Wolverine’s Revenge

ComicBook Nation's The Pull List: Ultimate Spider-Man's Sinister Six and Wolverine's Revenge

As a lifelong comic book enthusiast and self-proclaimed Marvel superfan, I can confidently say that this week has been nothing short of a delight for my inner child. New Comic Book Day is always a special occasion, but this week’s lineup truly outdid itself. The return of Greg Capullo to Marvel with Wolverine: Revenge #1 was an absolute treat, and the debut of a new Sinister Six in Ultimate Spider-Man #8 has left me eagerly anticipating future issues.

Although it’s just midweek, it also marks the arrival of New Comic Book Day, which is cause for excitement every time! This week brings an array of fresh titles from publishers such as DC, Marvel, Image, BOOM!, Dark Horse, Dynamite, Titan, and others. The ComicBook Nation team delves into some of this week’s most anticipated releases in the latest episode of The Pull List.

Ultimate Renaissance

ComicBook Nation's The Pull List: Ultimate Spider-Man's Sinister Six and Wolverine's Revenge

In issue #8 of Ultimate Spider-Man, there are several subtle yet impactful scenes between the characters that longtime fans have been eagerly anticipating for a while. The way the characters are developed and how they interact with each other creates complex and genuine relationships that feel new yet true to their original charm.

In addition to the protagonists, there’s a renewed vigor among the antagonists too. The Sinister Six idea remains consistent, but the team composition brings about fresh narrative opportunities. And oh, J. Jonah Jameson has truly stepped up his game, especially during that birthday party scene – it’s significantly changed my view of him in this universe.

A Savage Return

As a devoted Marvel enthusiast, diving into Wolverine: Revenge by Jonathan Hickman and Greg Capullo was an exhilarating mystery I couldn’t resist. The thrilling ride they took me on, with jaw-dropping moments skillfully orchestrated around a straightforward yet captivating concept, made the unexpected twists and brutal scenes feel quintessentially Wolverine. From the very first glimpse, I was hooked, and the story never faltered in its momentum, instead building tension and anticipation for what looks to be an epic, blood-soaked saga unfolding in upcoming issues. Dinososaurs, explosive superheroes, and vengeance are just a few of the tantalizing offerings in this book – it’s a feast no fan should miss!
