As a long-time devotee of the world of finance dramas and someone who has weathered countless financial market storms (both on screen and off), I must say that the anticipation for Industry Season 3 is as palpable as a short squeeze in GameStop stocks. The US reviews for the third season have been nothing short of exhilarating, promising an even more thrilling ride than before – and as someone who has seen their fair share of rollercoasters, I’m eagerly strapping myself in.
Fans of the financial drama series, “Industry,” based in the UK, have faced a challenging period lately. The third season has been premiering on HBO in the United States, but as of now, there’s no announced release date for these episodes on the BBC.
The third season of the show has received positive feedback in the U.S., with numerous people praising it as the finest episode yet – we’re eagerly awaiting its arrival in the UK.
In Season 3, several familiar faces from Seasons 1 and 2 will be back, but we’re also excited to welcome some fresh talent, with Kit Harington joining the cast as his new character, Henry Muck.
As a movie enthusiast, here’s my take on paraphrasing the synopsis for season 3: “In this new season, Pierpoint is gazing towards the future and making a substantial wager on ethical investments. Meanwhile, Yasmin, Robert, and Eric find themselves in the limelight as Lumi, a groundbreaking green tech energy company headed by the British aristocrat Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington), prepares for its initial public offering – embodying the very essence of ‘old money’ privilege.”
After departing from Pierpoint, Harper (Myha’la) is quite keen on re-immersing herself in the captivating world of finance. An unexpected ally in this endeavor emerges in the form of Petra Koenig, a portfolio manager at FutureDawn, played by Sarah Goldberg.
At the unveiling of the upcoming season in June, co-creator Konrad Kay expressed their ambition to craft the new episodes as incredibly thrilling.
Mickey Down, one of the co-creators and co-showrunners, stated: “Episode 2 is relentlessly intense. After that, they take a trip to Switzerland for some respite, but the intensity continues at an equally high level in Episode 3.”
Industry season 3 will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in October 2024.
