Avowed Has at Least 10 Different “Ending Slides”

As a seasoned RPG enthusiast with countless hours spent navigating the intricate narrative webs spun by Obsidian Entertainment, I can hardly contain my excitement for the impending release of Avowed. The prospect of multiple ending slides, each one a testament to the choices and actions taken throughout the game, has my heart racing like a young adventurer on the cusp of a monumental quest.

In the upcoming RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment, it’s expected that decision-making and consequences will play a significant role, shaping the game’s final outcome. During a conversation with IGN, game director Carrie Patel provided additional insights into these aspects.

According to Patel, the final slides in “Avowed” will be numerous, likely more than ten, and the specific sequence you’ll encounter depends on the decisions you make during the interactive journey.

Patel explained, “It’s quite challenging to give a definitive answer. Our final slides amount to more than ten, and there are numerous ways these can be arranged. You see, we’re dealing with an Obsidian game here, so your ending is essentially the culmination of all the choices you made throughout the game, across various elements, based on what you experienced and how you responded when you encountered it.”

It’s important to mention that just because a game has more than 10 different final slides doesn’t necessarily mean it has over 10 unique endings. In role-playing games, where choices and consequences matter, multiple final slides are often used to tie up loose ends in the story. These slides typically represent players’ decisions, but determining exactly how many primary endings the game actually has is something that needs to be established.

Avowed is due out on February 18, 2025 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
