WWE’s Jimmy Hart Talks 2K24 and Reveals Which Current Superstars He’d Love to Team With

As a lifelong gamer and wrestling enthusiast who has witnessed the rise and fall of countless superstars, I can confidently say that the inclusion of Jimmy Hart in WWE 2K24 is nothing short of legendary. Growing up, I remember watching him manage some of the most iconic figures in wrestling history – from Hulk Hogan to Randy Savage, and even the rowdy Roddy Piper.

In the latest update, WWE 2K24 has beefed up its impressive roster even further by adding more big names and legends such as Honky Tonk Man, Sensational Sherri, Post Malone, Mosh, Thrasher, and the iconic manager Jimmy Hart. Armed with his megaphone, Hart is all set to guide any 2K24 superstar to success, a feat he’s accomplished numerous times during his illustrious Hall of Fame career. ComicBook got the opportunity to chat with Hart about his in-game representation and his thoughts on being part of this impressive DLC expansion. We also discuss his opinions on the new mechanic that lets players use the megaphone as a weapon, and finally, we find out which three current WWE Superstars he would pick to manage if given the chance.

A New Hart Partnership

In WWE 2K24, you can now assign Hart as a manager for any of your preferred legendary or current WWE Superstars. The role of an excellent manager remains just as crucial today as it was in the past. Hence, we wondered whom Hart would choose as his first trio in this contemporary era if given the opportunity?

If given the opportunity, if Triple H approached me and said, “Jimmy, Paul Ellering has returned, we want you back for a short while,” my response would be, “Absolutely, fantastic. I’m on board.” I would choose Austin Theory; I find him intriguing with his potential. The tag team Pretty Deadly also catches my interest. I’d love to work with them. As for the women, Piper Niven is someone I admire. She possesses a unique look and size, and I believe she could achieve great things in the ring. In fact, I think she’s on the verge of becoming a World Champion. It would be an honor to be by her side. You may recall, I had the Glamour Girls at one point: Judy, Lonnie Kahn, and Judy Martin.

As a long-time wrestling fan with over two decades of watching wrestling under my belt, I have to say that the current roster is shaping up to be quite spectacular. With Piper’s recent partnership with Chelsea Green and the potential addition of Hart to the mix, it’s hard not to get excited about what could potentially unfold. Theory has been showing a lot of promise lately, especially since his split from Grayson Waller and his transformation into a babyface. But if I had to pick one act that I am truly captivated by, it would be Pretty Deadly. The thought of Jimmy Hart joining forces with this dynamic duo might just be too good to pass up. I must admit, I can’t help but feel a strong desire to see such a pairing come to fruition.

Megaphone Is The Weapon

Among the new features introduced in 2K24’s gameplay is the exciting option to hurl weapons, allowing you to chuck a chair, trash can, kendo stick, or any other item you happen to find within reach at your opponent. This feature proves particularly useful, especially during multi-player matches, and 2K has introduced another weapon to this arsenal. One of the most distinctive weapons in the collection is none other than Hart’s megaphone, which can now be hurled! He couldn’t be more thrilled about it.

“Hart mentioned that we frequently won matches due to using megaphones. However, he didn’t claim responsibility for this. Occasionally, some wrestlers would accidentally knock themselves out by tripping over the megaphone during a match, allowing us to secure the victory. Hart added that it’s possible for you to use the megaphone yourself if you wish, but he seems enthusiastic about the opportunity.”

It’s weird to think of Hart without the megaphone, as it’s become such a trademark element for him, but at one point that was the case. “The megaphone has been such a big part of my career. When I was in Memphis with Andy Kaufman and Lawler and everybody, I used to have a cane down there. I used to use it at ring, but when I went to New York, Mr. Fuji had the cane. So I couldn’t do that against Mr. Fuji, you know where that would’ve wound up. So what happened is I have the megaphone and I was able to paint it, make it, if I had the Heart foundation, it was pink and black. If it was with Hulk, I had red and yellow. And of course with the Jimmy Hart stuff, I just made it generic with the mouth of the south on it and all the hearts and stuff. But it’s been a major part of my career. It really has,” Hart said.

Legendary Names

Hart becomes part of an impressive lineup that includes greats such as Dusty Rhodes, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, The Undertaker, Honky Tonk Man, Harley Race, Bruno Sammartino, Billy Superstar Graham (who I managed in Memphis), Rowdy Roddy Piper, fellow cast members of Legends House, Rick Rude (also managed in Memphis), and Randy Savage (also managed in Memphis). This is what he shared.

Hart mentioned some well-known wrestlers like the Steiner brothers, Shawn Michaels, Big Boss Man (who he managed in WCW), and Andre the Giant, to name a few. In addition, there were over 100 rising stars and numerous managers, such as Paul Bearer, Paul Hayman, and Sensational Sherri. Notably, this game also features wrestling legends like Elizabeth. It’s hard to believe, but I find myself questioning if I truly got paid for being part of all this. Needless to say, it’s fantastic!

“Hart expressed great excitement about being part of the game. He always makes sure to mention that receiving the Hall of Fame ring in 2005 was a significant honor for him. Moreover, he’s proud of all the merchandise released this year and continues to be featured by WWE. The opportunity to return to WrestleManias for promotional purposes, such as this year in Philly, is particularly meaningful since he was on WrestleMania one. However, Hart considers being a part of this game as the cherry on top. If someone told him tomorrow that his time was up, he’d be grateful and say goodbye. Yet, he envisions himself associated with this game for the rest of his life.”

As a long-time fan of WWE and music, I can confidently say that the release of WWE 2K24 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC is a dream come true for many gamers like myself. Not only can we enjoy the latest installment in the popular wrestling game series, but we also have the opportunity to add Jimmy Hart to our roster through the Post Malone & Friends Pack.
