Oscar Winner Guillermo del Toro Is Live-Tweeting a Ghost Hunt

As a seasoned gamer of both virtual and real-life adventures, I find myself captivated by the latest escapade of Guillermo del Toro. The man has always had a knack for weaving tales that send chills down one’s spine, but now he’s living one himself!

Guillermo del Toro is famous for creating films with a supernatural and eerie feel, but lately, the director has found himself dealing with something truly strange in reality – and he’s sharing his experience through live tweets. On social media, del Toro has been chronicling an apparent ghost investigation after experiencing peculiar events at the hotel where he’s residing in Aberdeen, Scotland while working on Frankenstein, incidents that are said to have caused one of his producers to depart.

While I’m in Aberdeen, I’m lodging at an old hotel dating back to the 1800s. Currently, I’m occupying its most haunted room, previously inhabited by one of our producers this morning. She was spooked by some strange electrical and physical phenomena, causing her to leave immediately. Keep an eye out, as I will update if any unusual events occur.

In Aberdeen, I’m currently lodged at a hotel dating back to the 1800s, specifically in its most haunted room. This space was recently vacated by one of our team members this morning due to some peculiar electrical and physical occurrences that spooked her into leaving promptly. Keep an eye out – if anything unusual happens, I’ll be sure to share it with you.

He often spends his time in rooms said to be the most haunted, yet only once did he encounter something otherworldly; usually, it’s just quiet and uneventful. Still, he remains optimistic. Scotland holds a special place in his heart, even though he isn’t directly related to it. He further explained that his mother’s lineage traces back to Ireland, the O’Colligan family. His grandfather, whom he shares a name with, was Guillermo Gomez O’Colligan.

On Thursday, Del Toro informed his followers about the current state of affairs. He mentioned that as of now, no incidents have occurred, but there’s a heavy, oppressive feeling in the room. He plans to sleep in a different room tonight.

He wrote, “I can only report that no events have transpired so far, but the ambiance in the room feels heavy, and I don’t plan to spend a lot more time there. For now, I’ve chosen to sleep elsewhere – I require 6 hours of rest for a productive day on set. I’ll be wrapping up early and late today, but there seems to be something unsettling in that room… If anything occurs or remains unchanged, you can expect another update or two.”

After making subsequent updates, del Toro has posted a picture of the mirror in Room #4 along with mentioning that “the room seems to have more than just vibes; there is something aggressive and territorial lurking there, hinting at a residual anger.” At this point in time, the latest update indicates that del Toro is trying to capture an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) using his iPhone.

Right now, Del Toro is in Scotland to film ‘Frankenstein’. This movie features Oscar Isaac, Christoph Walz, Mia Goth, and Jacob Elordi. Filming started on this project earlier this year. As per J. Miles Dale, who often collaborates with Del Toro, the director is creating a small Monster Universe that links ‘Pretorius’, the working title for this new ‘Frankenstein’ film, to ‘The Shape of Water’.

Previously, it was planned that he would create the Monster Universe in collaboration with Universal, featuring characters such as Frankenstein’s Bride, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man, and The Wolf Man. However, this did not come to fruition. Now, it appears he is embarking on his own take on a “Monster Universe,” given that The Shape of Water can be seen as an interpretation of a creature-themed tale.

In recent movies, such as “Nightmare Alley” and “Pinocchio,” we have explored the complexities of the father-son bond. Coincidentally, Guillermo del Toro and I have both experienced the loss of our fathers in recent times. A strong father figure plays a significant role in our lives, and this is reflected in our work. Interestingly, this adaptation of “Frankenstein” follows a similar thematic path, making it, in my opinion, the third film in Guillermo’s trilogy that delves into this theme. This makes the project particularly touching, emotional, and iconic.

The movie by Guillermo del Toro, titled “Frankenstein,” does not have a confirmed release date as of now. Stay tuned to ComicBook for further news regarding the director’s upcoming ghost-hunting project.
