As a seasoned film enthusiast with over three decades of television consumption under my belt, I must confess that I’ve seen it all – from the golden age of sitcoms to the reality TV revolution. Yet, I find myself utterly baffled by Paramount Plus’ latest offering, Dating Naked.
Right after Love Island 2024, I Kissed a Girl and Love Is Blind: UK, yet another dating series has graced our TV screens.
In the latest series from Paramount, titled “Dating Naked,” the show shares a structure reminiscent of “Love Island.” It invites 10 single individuals into a villa located in South Africa, where they embark on a journey to find love and stand a chance to claim a £50,000 reward.
But, as you might have guessed from the title, there’s a twist: they don’t wear any clothes.
The television program, presented by renowned personality Rylan, represents the United Kingdom’s first airing of a format that has previously been introduced in both the U.S. and Germany.
As a fan excitedly sharing the news, I’d put it this way: “They reached out to me from Paramount Plus, saying they had a project in mind for me. However, being a bit perplexed, I asked for clarification. They replied, ‘It involves nudity, dating, and full disclosure of everything.’ Can you believe it?”
Regarding him handling the initial uneasiness, he shared this: “During my first encounter, as I enter the house and behold all the potential dates gathered around the pool, I invite them to join me by saying, ‘Let’s move over here together.'”
When they joined me, we had to shift a camera, and for about a minute, there was an unspoken understanding where everyone seemed to pause, not eager to break the quiet moment.
As a movie lover, I found myself there, locking eyes with everyone, and I blurted out, “I need to address this quickly,” before giving a quick survey, which left us all in fits of laughter.
