As a dedicated fan who has been eagerly awaiting the release of Dying Light 2 Stay Human and its standalone title, Dying Light: The Beast, I find myself both intrigued and a bit disappointed by Techland’s recent announcement. On one hand, I’m thrilled to hear that The Beast is shaping up to be an expansive adventure, potentially offering even more hours of immersive gameplay. However, the news that the Ultimate Edition for Dying Light 2 will no longer be available after September 30 has left me a bit concerned.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m sharing some exciting news about Dying Light 2 Stay Human. The awesome folks at Techland have recently announced that they’ll be removing the listings for the Ultimate Edition and Upgrade to Ultimate Edition on all platforms, starting from September 30. So, if you’ve been eyeing these special editions, now might be the perfect time to grab them before they disappear digitally!
In simpler terms, the developers have clarified that those who currently possess the Ultimate Edition of Dying Light 2 Stay Human won’t experience any changes. Additionally, it’s important to mention that you can still acquire the Ultimate Edition before the cutoff date on September 30.
Just revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live, the studio has unveiled the new game titled “Dying Light: The Beast“. This game will star Kyle Crane, who was the protagonist in the original “Dying Light“. Originally conceived as a DLC for “Dying Light 2“, Techland has decided to release it as a standalone title instead.
In another tweet, the developer clarified that since the upcoming standalone game for Dying Light 2 will offer a more extensive experience, the Ultimate Edition of the game is planned to no longer be available for purchase.
As a game developer working on Dying Light: The Beast, I can honestly say that this project has grown beyond our initial expectations. Instead of just being a DLC, we’re now providing a complete 18+ hour standalone adventure for all gamers to enjoy.
Development is underway for the game “Dying Light: The Beast” on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and personal computers (PC). An official launch date will be shared towards the end of this year.
Friends, starting October 1st, we’ll no longer offer the Ultimate Edition and the Upgrade to Ultimate Edition for Dying Light 2 Stay Human on all platforms. But don’t worry if you’ve already purchased either of these editions – you won’t be impacted by this change.

As we progressed in creating Dying Light: The Beast, it expanded beyond its initial plan. Instead, what we’re offering now is a complete 18+ hour solo journey, rather than just an expansion pack. We remain committed to our long-time supporters and will deliver Dying Light: The Beast as promised to current Ultimate Edition owners.
