Rings of Power Star Says Singing in Elvish Was "Humbling" Experience

As a seasoned gamer and Tolkien enthusiast, I must say that the upcoming second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is a fantasy come true! The fact that Benjamin Walker is not only speaking Elvish but also singing in Quenya is just mind-blowing. It’s like winning the lottery for any Middle Earth lover. I mean, who wouldn’t want to pinch themselves while on the set of Rings of Power doing one of the most Elvish things Tolkien ever created?

As a dedicated fan of J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth saga and a devotee of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, I eagerly await the arrival of its second season on Amazon Prime Video. Recently, I had the opportunity to delve deeper into the making of this captivating series through an exclusive interview with some of the show’s talented cast and creators.

Walker shared, “There are rare instances in a career when you get to do everything you’re passionate about and receive the kind of backing I experienced. It’s Bear McCreary’s music, Leith McPherson making sure I don’t sound foolish. And here I am on the set of The Rings of Power, performing one of the most iconic Elvish actions that Tolkien envisioned. Sometimes you just have to remind yourself. It was a profound experience, the word ‘humbling’ captures it best.”

At the beginning of this page, you’ll find our interview with Walker, as well as some entertaining clips starring Ismael Cruz Córdova (Arondir). Enjoy!

According to Season 2 director Charlotte Brändström, shared with MovieZine earlier this year, we can expect the new season to be darker, more focused on characters, and filled with unexpected surprises. She also mentioned that they aimed to make it as authentic as possible by giving it a grittier feel without relying on visual cues. Over the holidays, she watched all the episodes in their rough cuts and believes it will be an excellent season overall.

The cast of “The Rings of Power” features Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Maxim Baldry, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Lloyd Owen, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, Leon Wadham, Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman, and Sara Zwangobani.

Keep an eye out for announcements about Season 2 of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” which will be available on Amazon Prime Video starting August 29th.
