Richard Armitage gives update on Harlan Coben’s Missing You release date

As a fan who has been fortunate enough to witness Richard Armitage‘s remarkable journey through various roles, I can confidently say that his latest collaboration with Harlan Coben is nothing short of a testament to their incredible synergy. Richard’s humility and enthusiasm for each new project are truly inspiring, making us fans eagerly await what comes next.

Richard Armitage is recognized for his versatility across numerous roles, spanning from the Lord of the Rings film series (The Hobbit trilogy), Robin Hood, Spooks, to his latest project, Red Eye.

More recently, he’s gained recognition through his multiple collaborative projects with Harlan Coben. So far, there have been three Netflix adaptations based on Coben’s books featuring him: The Stranger, Stay Close, and Fool Me Once.

Currently, he’s expanding his list by one more title, titled “Missing You”. This upcoming production will feature Rosalind Eleazar, Jessica Plummer, Ashley Walters, and James Nesbitt, along with several other talented actors.

According to Armitage, the project “Missing You” is completed now. He found it astounding, and he was pleasantly surprised when invited to work on “Fool Me Once” for a third time. His initial response was a raised eyebrow and a question, “Are you certain?”

Then, they requested my presence for the fourth time, and I replied, “You’re quite eccentric! But, nevertheless, I’m delighted to oblige.”

“In other words, I’m like their essential good luck charm; they might think they can manage without me, but in reality, they seem to need my presence. To put it more plainly, I’ve evolved from an enigmatic stranger into someone they keep close, learning the hard way not to underestimate me.”

Additionally, I comprehend the reason behind this as Harlan Coben excels in creating suspenseful cliffhangers. His novels are captivating page-turners that are difficult to set aside, and they translate exceptionally well into engaging television dramas.

He went on to mention: “I believe Netflix has discovered that his extensive collection of work is incredibly versatile, and they could potentially continue adapting it for about the next decade. As for me, I might not feature in every production. However, I don’t rule anything out completely.”

“So, a hat-trick refers to scoring three goals, correct? I believe a ‘poker’ consists of four – I’m on the verge of executing the Harlan Coben hand with four items.”

“But, yeah, it’s a great story, slightly shorter in format, but starring Lenny Henry and my co-star from Uncle Vanya, Rosalind Eleazar. So yeah, I look forward to seeing that, I think January next year.”

Listeners can now enjoy Armitage’s latest audiobook, titled “The Cut,” on Audible, with Jacob Dudman, his fellow actor from “The Stranger,” lending his voice to the production.
