But how do we play him, and is he optimistic for new players?

For several weeks, players have been diving into the fresh world of First-Person Shooter Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (FPS Moba) titled Deadlock, developed by Valve. They’ve been immersed in the engaging gameplay and atmosphere, experimenting with various new elements.
However, it was surprising to find that Shiv, the character who met a premature end, had been included in the lineup. Here’s our guide on playing as Shiv in Deadlock for those who might be interested.
In essence, Shiv has a resemblance to Darius in his playstyle; he’s primarily focused on dealing damage through bleeding and evading danger effectively.
He makes great for lane support and even focuses on DPS. To cut to the chase, we want to build up both bleed and rage. Rage fills as we both take and give damage. Once rage is filled, we gain buffs to our moves as well as a higher firing rate.
In a fight, anger can significantly influence the outcome – it might mean either victory or defeat. The base defense for Deadlock isn’t strong at first, but certain moves will enhance his survivability.
Initially, the key tool he possesses, the Serrated Knives, functions as a reliable ally. It combines bleed and slow effects on impact, and can be layered multiple times against foes. Use it frequently against enemies, then swiftly follow up with his second ability. This move propels him forward while slicing through, providing an effective offensive maneuver.
As someone who has spent countless hours immersed in video games, I must say that this method is quite effective for taking down enemies swiftly and efficiently. However, it’s not just limited to combat – I’ve also found myself using it as a means of escape when cornered in tight spots. It’s a versatile tool that can be a game-changer in various situations.
As you’re using the first two skills, also engage the third one simultaneously. Instead of taking immediate damage, this transforms it into prolonged damage. Although it won’t protect you during retreats, it does ensure you stay alive for a sufficient time to secure the kill.
Steamroll Ultimate
However, his most effective strategy is his lethal final strike. This move sees Shiv launch onto an opponent, inflicting a slash and causing bleeding. Moreover, its primary appeal lies in swiftly defeating anyone at 29% health. While it’s excellent for immediate kills, it truly excels when fully upgraded.
At its highest level, this skill functions similarly to Darius’s ultimate, and it resets whenever a kill is made. In the appropriate circumstances, this power can result in complete elimination of the enemy team.
When considering his skills, remember to factor in his reach. For my Deadlock Shiv Guide, I advise players to focus on investing in life steal and armor equipment. Since Shiv wields a shotgun, this character performs poorly at long range. While his knives can cover some distance, they are not particularly effective independently.
