As a dedicated gamer, I’m thrilled about the latest update from Valve for Steam, enhancing the already impressive Steam Deck handheld gaming device. The library of games for this platform is massive, but not all are optimized for it – they aren’t “Verified” yet, which means some titles might experience performance issues or glitches. To help us gamers navigate through this, Valve has added a new feature that aims to offer more transparency regarding game performance on the Steam Deck. This should make choosing and playing games on my Steam Deck smoother than ever!
Via official Steam Deck social media platforms, Valve unveiled a fresh feature in game reviews on Steam. Now, if a user has predominantly played the game they’re reviewing on the Steam Deck, an icon representing the Steam Deck will not show up next to their review. Although this might appear as a minor modification, it holds significant value since Steam reviews significantly impact users’ decisions when buying games.
By all accounts, this small implementation to Steam has been incredibly well received by those who own the Steam Deck. In response to this move, many praised Valve for adding this new quality-of-life feature to the PC marketplace. Others were quick to notice that Valve also added the ability to sort reviews based on this criteria, which further allows Steam Deck users to get a brief breakdown of how other Steam Deck players might have experienced a specific title. All in all, features like this might not be monumental, but it’s great to see that Valve is always trying to improve Steam in every little way that it can.
