Official Alien: Romulus Reebok Sneakers Drop Tonight

As a seasoned gamer and movie enthusiast with a soft spot for sci-fi and action, I can hardly contain my excitement for the Reebok Alien Romulus sneaker! With my collection of vintage Alien merchandise already spanning decades, this new addition promises to be a treasure trove of Easter eggs that will surely satisfy every hardcore fan.

Reebok has been partnering with the Alien series since the 1986 movie “Aliens,” resulting in numerous replicas and exclusive designs from 2016 to 2020. These items have proven highly popular and now command high prices on platforms such as eBay and StockX. They’re reviving this collaboration with a new shoe that plays a significant role in the film “Alien: Romulus.”

As a passionate gamer, I’m excited to share that I’ve got my eyes on the Reebok Alien Romulus sneakers! These bad boys are inspired by the BB4000 II frame from Reebok Basketball, boasting an all-leather upper with a worn, film-inspired finish. The Weyland-Yutani logo graces the tongue and heel, and it’s packed with an EVA foam midsole and a sturdy rubber cupsole featuring a grippy traction pattern for ultimate grip. There are even some cool Easter eggs for fans hidden in there!

A Scene From Aliens Inspired the Story for Romulus

The upcoming movie titled “Romulus” is being marketed as more of a spin-off than a straight continuation of the “Alien” franchise, and it follows a group of young space explorers who encounter the scariest creature in the cosmos. Director Fede Alvarez has shared that a cut scene from James Cameron’s “Aliens” featuring young colonists served as inspiration for the plot behind Romulus.

Initially, I chose to take an unusual perspective for this project – focusing on characters who aren’t experts or scientists; instead, they are young adults. I found it intriguing to place ordinary people as the main focus of the story, making them similar to our own selves, not because our audience is young, but because they are unfamiliar with the realities of space travel. When characters are portrayed as professionals, they often possess more knowledge than us. However, when they’re in their early 20s, they struggle with basic tasks like operating the airlock.

He continued, “All their parents probably worked on the same ship when they were kids, and that’s how they got to know each other … There’s a lot of history between them because they’re the only family they have. They truly act more like surrogate siblings; some of them even lived under the same roof. A lot of the big themes of the movie are about siblinghood and what does that mean? The Romulus of it all, and the bigger plot with Weyland-Yutani, is actually connected to that as well.”

In the movie titled Alien, we have Cailee Spaeny playing Priscilla, David Jonsson from Agatha Christie’s Murder is Easy, Archie Renaux known for Shadow and Bone, Isabela Merced recognized from The Last of Us, Spike Fearn best remembered in Aftersun, Aileen Wu, and Fede Alvarez who has worked on Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe directs. He co-wrote the script with his regular partner Rodo Sayagues (Don’t Breathe 2), based on characters originally created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett.

Alien: Romulus is now playing in theaters.
