The Casting of Frank Stone Launches Public Demo Ahead of Release

As a seasoned horror game enthusiast with over two decades of gut-wrenching, heart-stopping experiences under my belt, I can confidently say that the demo for The Casting of Frank Stone has me genuinely intrigued and eager for next week’s full release!

If you’ve been eagerly anticipating the spin-off of “Dead by Daylight,” titled “The Casting of Frank Stone,” developed by Supermassive Games, and can hardly contain your excitement until next week, I’ve got some fantastic news for you! The original developers of “Dead by Daylight,” Behaviour Interactive, in collaboration with Supermassive Games, have made available a demo of the upcoming game on Steam. This demo lets players dive into the chilling narrative-driven horror game’s prologue and explore several new features exclusive to Supermassive titles.

In this demo, players take on the role of Sam Green, a tenacious police officer, who embarks on a mission to solve the enigma of a missing child. This investigation leads them into the ominous Cedar Hills Steel Mill, where they’ll uncover chilling secrets that reveal a more sinister truth than anyone could have predicted. It’s important to note that this demo acts as an introduction to the full game, packed with hidden Easter eggs and numerous unexpected twists and turns. As hinted, these events serve as a prologue for The Casting of Frank Stone, a game that delves deeper and darker into the intricate lore of the twisted world within Dead by Daylight.

According to a press release announcing the public demo launch, it’s important to clarify that progress made in the demo will not transfer to the final game. This means it won’t give players an early advantage as some might have hoped. However, the demo offers a valuable chance to play around with the game mechanics, discover hidden outcomes and secrets, and test different paths, choices, and difficulty levels. As a result, when you start the full game next week, you’ll have a better idea of what to anticipate and can more effectively search for what’s hidden in the shadows with a bit of an understanding edge.

Regarding the demonstration, ComicBook showcased the opening scene from “The Casting of Frank Stone” prematurely. In our recent article for the one-hour segment, we expressed that in our view, Supermassive Games has met their mark regarding the tone and atmosphere expectations. I’m quite certain of this, even at this early stage after experiencing just one location. The Prologue was filled with a sense of foreboding and consistently heightened feelings of apprehension and dread for its players.

On September 3rd, the complete version of “The Casting of Frank Stone” will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. You can download a preview of the game right now on Steam.
