Black Myth: Wukong Wandering Wight guide – How to beat the boss

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent traversing through the vast landscapes of fantasy worlds, I must say that the Wandering Wight in Black Myth: Wukong has proven to be an intriguing and challenging foe. Initially, I may have underestimated him due to his jovial appearance, but his cunning tactics have left me humbled more than once.

If you’ve spent most of the past week delving into the captivating universe of Black Myth: Wukong, it’s likely you’ve encountered several optional missions and tasks that can be bypassed.

One such optional challenge is the Wandering Wight.

In the initial chapter, along the primary trail within the Forest of Wolves, you come across the Wandering Wight. This towering figure is bald and sports a deep blue complexion, giving off an unsettling vibe akin to a Laughing Buddha statue when it’s having a particularly grumpy day.

He’s an optional opponent at this stage, but it might be wise to steer clear of him for now. As you advance through the game (there are plenty of tasks) and gain more strength, he becomes a worthy adversary to challenge. The reasons to face him range from achieving honor, to acquiring valuable loot, skills, and experience points.

Let’s take a look at how to beat the boss.

In the video, you’ll find yourself dashing quite a bit to skirt around his shockwave assault, given its expansive range.

After the initial assault, if he fires another shockwave towards you, consider dodging to the side rather than retreating backwards. A shockwave will still reach you no matter how much distance you put between us and it in a backward direction.

To successfully avoid the majority of his attacks, you’ll have to time your movements correctly. This could require some patience at first, but remember to keep your concentration, and eventually, it will become as natural as breathing.

To avoid being hit by a double stomp and triple sweep attack, it’s crucial that you carefully watch its execution.

After defeating him, you’ll earn 1,049 experience points, along with the Wandering Wight Spirit, Cat’s Eye Beads, Stone Spirit, and a total of 691 Will.

Keep in mind that the elusive Wandering Wight vanishes once you defeat the boss of the Ancient Guanyin Temple. Therefore, it’s advisable to battle him prior to that time.
