Transformers One Releases New Poster Exclusively for Dolby

As a lifelong fan of Transformers, I can barely contain my excitement for the upcoming animated feature film, Transformers One! The collaboration between Dolby and Paramount is just the icing on the cake, promising an immersive cinematic experience that will take our love for these iconic characters to new heights.

In partnership, Dolby and Paramount are unveiling a poster for the upcoming movie titled “Transformers One“. This marketing material emphasizes its premiere in Dolby Cinemas. The poster showcases Optimus Prime and Megatron, with Cybertron as a backdrop, while strategically positioning the Dolby logo in the foreground to highlight its “exclusive” screening status. The film is scheduled for release next month, marking it as the first entirely CGI animated Transformers feature. It focuses on the early lives of the characters before the Autobot/Decepticon conflict escalated into a lifelong enmity.

Chris Hemsworth, who starred in Transformers One, explained to ComicBook during San Diego Comic Con International last month that the character he plays isn’t the wise, all-knowing, powerful Optimus Prime we’re familiar with. Instead, this version is youthful, brash, cocky, and full of hope. He doesn’t follow rules and society’s expectations, adding a lot of humor and fun to the role. Initially, Hemsworth thought he would use more of the Peter Cullen voice, but the director discouraged that idea, explaining this character isn’t at that stage yet. It’s challenging to incorporate youthful banter in the Peter Cullen cadence. Toward the end of the movie, as his character evolves into Optimus Prime, they lean towards using a similar tone, but Hemsworth never intended to mimic it. Instead, he uses it as inspiration and motivation, while recognizing that what Peter Cullen has achieved is iconic and brilliant, leaving the iconic performance on the mantelpiece as something he pays tribute to.

In a previously undisclosed account, we find the backstory of Optimus Prime and Megatron – two figures whose enmity is legendary, yet who shared an unbreakable brotherhood bond that ultimately altered the course of Cybertron’s history.

The inaugural computer-generated animated Transformers film, titled “Transformers One,” boasts an impressive ensemble voice cast comprising stars like Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, as well as Laurence Fishburne and Jon Hamm.

The movie “Transformers One” is helmed by Josh Cooley as the director, with a script penned jointly by Eric Pearson, Andrew Barrer, and Gabriel Ferrari. The production team includes Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Tom DeSanto & Don Murphy, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, and Aaron Dem. Executive producers for this film are Steven Spielberg, Zev Foreman, Olivier Dumont, Bradley J. Fischer, B.J. Farmer, and Matt Quigg.

Transformers One will be in theaters on September 20th.
