As a seasoned gamer who has traversed the digital landscapes of countless consoles, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and nostalgia with Sega’s latest announcement. The Nintendo Switch is finally joining the Yakuza party, with the iconic Yakuza Kiwami set to launch this October!
Indeed, the moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived! The Yakuza / Like a Dragon franchise has experienced remarkable global expansion over the past few years, largely due to Sega’s strategy of making the series available across numerous platforms. However, Nintendo Switch players have been watching from the sidelines. But now, Sega is responding to the demand and is finally bringing changes for those players too.
After wrapping up the latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Sega dropped a bombshell – Yakuza Kiwami is coming to the Nintendo Switch this October! As a remake of the series’ first game, it offers a perfect opportunity for newcomers to jump in on the Switch. For those who have been with the series from the start, this could be a great excuse to revisit a classic title. Take a peek at the trailer below to catch a glimpse of how the game performs on the Nintendo Switch.
It’s yet unclear if Kiwami’s release will prompt more Yakuza games to appear on the Switch (or potentially its next version), but it’s definitely a desire for many fans.
As an excited fan, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be diving back into the vibrant world of Yakuza Kiwami on my Nintendo Switch starting October 24! If you haven’t had a chance to play it yet, fear not – it’s already available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
