As a seasoned gamer with decades of arcade and console gaming under my belt, I must say that Capcom’s announcement of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is music to my nostalgic ears! Growing up, I remember spending countless quarters at the arcade, honing my skills in these very games. Seeing them all gathered together in one collection is like a dream come true for this old-school gamer.
In addition to unveiling the latest version of Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Capcom has also set a release date for Marvel vs. Capcom: Arcade Classics Fighting Collection. The game will be available digitally starting September 12th on PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. A physical version of the game will follow on November 22nd. You can watch the latest trailer below.
The compilation features a whopping six titles in the series, starting with X-Men: Children of the Atom and progressing through Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes. You can also experience The Punisher, an arcade beat ’em up featuring good ol’ Frank Castle (and a new High Score Challenge).
For all games, multiplayer is an option, backed by rollback netcode. Players have the flexibility to arrange Custom Matches, observe others play (spectate), participate in Ranked Play, explore fresh Training Mode functions, and utilize simplified one-button special moves. Additionally, you can delve into the Museum to appreciate art or listen to music from each game. Keep an eye out for further details leading up to its release.
