Carrie Underwood is finally speaking out about her ultimate full-circle moment.
“The artist known for ‘Before He Cheats’ has announced that he will be participating in the upcoming season of American Idol, making this revelation during an unexpected visit to SiriusXM’s Music Row Happy Hour in Las Vegas on August 23. He hinted that there’s a lot happening right now.”

Just last month, I found myself utterly thrilled when I heard the news that Carrie Underwood – yes, she who won Season Four of that captivating singing competition series all the way back in 2005 – is stepping into Katy Perry’s spot at the judges’ table for the show’s upcoming 25th season! Approximately two decades after her initial audition, the 41-year-old woman is positively sure she possesses the necessary skills to guide aspiring musicians of diverse origins, alongside returning judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
“It’s truly fortunate for me to have such a strong connection with country music, but I’ve also had the opportunity to explore various other music genres,” Underwood shared with host Buzz Brainard. “Currently, I even have a song with Papa Roach, and it’s quite enjoyable.”
She mentioned, “I consider myself adaptable, and during auditions, I strive to wear different perspectives or lenses depending on the kind of music being performed.”
But don’t expect Underwood to dish out any harsh, Simon Cowell-esque critiques to the contestants.
She mentioned that she aims to be straightforward yet compassionate in her approach, which she believes is crucial since everyone joining is embarking on their own journey, making them an integral part of each other’s stories from the very beginning.
