As a seasoned RPG enthusiast with a heart full of nostalgia for the Dragon Quest series, I must say, the upcoming remake of Dragon Quest 3 has me absolutely thrilled! After countless hours spent battling monsters and exploring lands in the original version, it’s like stepping into a dream to see this beloved classic getting a fresh coat of paint.
After a significant wait, the highly anticipated Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake is inching ever closer to release, and each preview continues to heighten anticipation. During the latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Square Enix offered further insights into this upcoming turn-based RPG, showcasing snippets of its engaging gameplay.
In addition to other features, the latest gameplay trailer for the remake highlights customization options where you can alter your teammates’ professions, many aspects of their physical appearance, voice, and more. Additionally, a new profession called Monster Wrangler has been introduced, which was not present in the original Dragon Quest 3. Monster Wranglers possess the ability to use abilities resembling those of monsters, allowing them to both injure enemies and heal their allies. Take a look at the trailer below to catch a sneak peek of what this profession entails.
The updated 2D version of Dragon Quest 3 is now available on November 14 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms. Look forward to the HD-2D remakes of Dragon Quest 1 and 2, which are scheduled for release in early 2025.
