In a video posted on Instagram on August 27, Tammy shared, “I snap a lot of photos, including many selfies. It’s not just about thinking I look great, though there’s a tiny bit of that – but mostly, it’s to keep memories of my size and appearance.”
Reflecting carefully over time, the 38-year-old woman came to understand just how significant a change the 500 pounds had brought about in her life. She expressed this realization by saying, “Wow, I used to be really big.”
However, Tammy’s journey towards losing weight wasn’t straightforward; she confessed that she resorted to drinking alcohol rather than eating, which she admitted had a detrimental effect on her.
However, she is determined to keep the change going.
She went on to say, “I could slip back into old patterns and regain all the lost weight,” she explained. “If that happens, was it all worth it? It feels like the time, money, and energy invested were in vain – it’s a disappointment.”
Moreover, similar to what the reality TV personality expressed, “This isn’t just a diet; it’s about adopting a new way of life. I’ve faced numerous personal struggles, internal battles if you will, and I continue to grapple with them.”
In her video, Tammy (famous for her TLC series alongside her sister Amy Slaton Halterman) ended with an encouraging note to her followers: “Remember, you aren’t in this journey alone. With determination and persistence, you can accomplish anything. Always keep going!”
