It turns out that they’ve been shooting a movie in New Zealand since June, titled ‘Backpack’. They are expected to finish filming by September. Various locations throughout Rotorua, Te Kuiti, and the South Head peninsula have been used for filming.
The plot summary of the movie was unveiled in a casting announcement, revealing that the film is groundbreaking and explores the complex relationship between two unlike sisters. Their family bonds are stretched to the limit as they embark on separate journeys and tasks.
The role requires the lead actress to excel in intense action scenes while also handling prosthetics or heavy makeup. This year, there was talk that Elle Fanning, an Emmy nominee, might star in this film co-written by Trachtenberg and Patrick Aison. The main character will portray twin sisters named Thia and Tessa, who are described as intelligent, witty, and have spent most of their lives in a laboratory. This is Thia’s first major adventure in the world, while Tessa displays a militant determination when pursuing her objectives.
Similar to how Alien: Resurrection revitalized the Alien series, Prey is set to revamp the Predator franchise with its upcoming movie slated for a summer 2025 premiere.
