2010 Nintendo Wii Classic Now Available to Play for Free

As someone who vividly remembers the gaming landscape of 2010, I can confidently say that the return of Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed is like a nostalgic blast from the past, with a touch of modern polish. The original game was a gem on the Nintendo Wii, and I’m thrilled to see it making its way onto new platforms.

2010 saw an explosion of incredible video games like Red Dead Redemption, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Mass Effect 2, God of War III, Xenoblade Chronicles, Halo Reach, Rock Band 3, Super Meat Boy, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Limbo, Civilization V, Super Street Fighter IV, Cave Story, BioShock 2, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Heavy Rain, and Pokemon SoulSilver/HeartGold. It was an amazing year for gaming with many other notable releases as well. One such game from that time is now available to play for free.

Starting today, a complimentary preview for the reimagined version of “Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed,” originally launched in 2010 as “Epic Mickey,” can be played before its official launch on September 24th. Similar to the upcoming game, which will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, this demo is accessible across all these gaming platforms.

It’s uncertain if Purple Lamp Studios and THQ Nordic have revealed a significant portion of the game through their free demo, but it typically offers around an hour or two of playtime, similar to many demos. From the online buzz, it seems that the demo is well-received, which is promising for those eagerly awaiting the complete version.
