Star Wars Outlaws – Ubisoft Warns of Progression Blockers on PS5 Following Recent Patch

As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating the galaxies far, far away, I must admit my disappointment with the latest twist in Massive Entertainment’s Star Wars Outlaws saga. Having splurged on the Gold Edition for early access, I was eagerly anticipating my journey through this new Star Wars experience. However, upon updating to Patch 1.000.002, I found myself stranded in space, a predicament that seems all too familiar for PS5 players.

On August 30th, Massive Entertainment’s “Star Wars Outlaws” officially releases, but early access is already available for those who own the Gold or Ultimate Edition. The latest patch, version 1.000.002, has been rolled out, resolving numerous problems; however, it seems to have inadvertently introduced some progression hurdles along the way.

In simpler terms, playing certain parts of the game on PS5 may lead to being trapped in space. IGN received an email from Ubisoft about this problem, explaining that they are sorry for the inconvenience and advising players to create a new save file after updating their game. Continuing with an earlier save may result in glitches and progression obstacles.

It appears there won’t be a solution for those using older saves in the near future. The fact that Gold and Ultimate Edition owners need to pay extra for early access has sparked some genuine discontent among players. However, on the positive note, this update introduces a 40 FPS mode, offering a balanced option between Performance and Quality.

Star Wars Outlaws is playable on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our review here.
