As a gamer who’s seen his fair share of anime and video games, I must say that Cheng Xi Huang has truly outdone himself with his work on Black Myth: Wukong. Having grown up watching Naruto, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when I see the anime-inspired visuals in this game.

In terms of the popular anime series, Naruto, numerous talented artists have attempted their hand at it, but few can rival Cheng Xi Huang. This Chinese animator is truly exceptional in his field and his association with Naruto should not be underestimated. From Naruto Shippuden to Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Huang’s work spans the entire spectrum of the series. Now, Huang is making waves for applying his anime skills to the most anticipated video game of the year, Black Myth: Wukong.

It’s clear from the information given that Huang has been tasked with overseeing a section of the popular video game “Black Myth: Wukong,” developed by Game Science. With over 10 million players worldwide, this game is currently captivating gamers globally. The game revolves around Sun Wukong, the main character from the Chinese folklore “Journey to the West.” As you progress through the game, different artistic styles are showcased in each chapter, and Huang has been asked to supervise one of these sections.

Undeniably, the artist drew heavily from his anime background to create an awe-inspiring clip of Black Myth: Wukong. In the video, viewers are immersed in a fierce battle as Wukong engages in combat. The chosen hero is depicted fighting numerous adversaries in the sky with a companion by his side. From the short’s composition to its hues and transitions, Huang left no stone unturned in the directing process. Consequently, Naruto enthusiasts are thrilled by this homage.

Hey there! It’s been quite some time since I last saw Kishimoto-san working on Naruto again. The anime has been silent since Boruto: Naruto Next Generations concluded, but we can expect it to come back at some point. Right now, the genius behind Naruto – Masashi Kishimoto – is putting in a lot of effort with Mikio Ikemoto on Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. This story continues where Naruto: Boruto Next Generations left off and fast-forwards through a time skip. When Naruto returns, it’ll be equipped with this new series under its belt, so the creators are currently stockpiling material for Studio Pierrot to adapt. Can’t wait!

Apart from Naruto, Huang is recognized for his work on various other anime productions too. He contributed his artistic talents to Netflix’s Castlevania, Chainsaw Man, My Hero Academia, Kaiju No. 8, Attack on Titan Final Season, and several others. Now, Huang has added Black Myth: Wukong to his portfolio, which is just one of the reasons why it’s being hailed as one of the top games this year.

If you’re interested in trying out “Black Myth: Wukong”, here’s some good news! This action-packed role-playing game is currently accessible on both PC and PlayStation 5 platforms. As for the Xbox release, it’s in the works, but an exact date has yet to be announced.
