31 years ago today, I can hardly believe it, but the first episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers graced our television screens for the very first time! This iconic franchise, which has since grown into a powerhouse in Kids TV, has also spread its wings to encompass toys, movies, video games, collectibles, and comics. As we eagerly await the next chapter in this timeless saga, let’s take a moment to celebrate everything that has come before. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Where It All Started
The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers debuted on August 28th, 1993, introducing viewers to their initial team of five: Jason (Red Ranger), Trini (Yellow Ranger), Billy (Blue Ranger), Zack (Black Ranger), and Kimberly (Pink Ranger). Over time, the franchise would also introduce Tommy (Green Ranger) as a significant character. Throughout its run, the team underwent changes in cast members and both Rangers and Zords, finally concluding on May 23rd, 1994.
Power Rangers originated from the Japanese series Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, and subsequent seasons of the show, starting from Mighty Morphin, were based on various other Sentai series. The latest installment in this franchise, Cosmic Fury, was released in 2023, marking the end of a 30-year run for the Dino Fury team.

Currently, Netflix hosts several Power Rangers series including the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, both seasons of Power Rangers Dino Fury, and one season of Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. In addition, you’ll find a reunion of the original cast in Netflix’s Power Rangers: Once & Always, featuring David Yost, Walter Emanuel Jones, Steve Cardenas, and Catherine Sutherland. However, for other film projects, you may need to switch platforms as the 1995 original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie is available on Disney+, while the 2017 Power Rangers reboot film can be found on Prime Video.

As an ardent fan of Power Rangers, I’m thrilled to share that we have an array of gaming delights to indulge in, and one that has me absolutely buzzing is just on the horizon! The highly anticipated game, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind, will soon be upon us this year. This title promises to infuse the classic beat-em up charm of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles into the Power Rangers universe, creating a unique gaming experience on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. For those seeking a pocket-friendly option, the previously released fighting game, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, is still available for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.

You can also find compilations of Go Go Power Rangers, Power Rangers, and Power Rangers: The Return, with the latter bringing back Amy Jo Johnson and Matt Hotson to reprise their roles as the original group of Rangers for a brand-new journey filled with unexpected twists.
As a fellow enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement about two captivating series that are worth your while while anticipating Prime. Firstly, there’s the delightful one-shot, Power Rangers Infinity, introducing an eccentric new group of Rangers, and secondly, the engaging Ranger Academy, which takes us on a journey through a training academy for future Rangers in the same universe as our beloved Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. And if you’re a fan of crossovers, the dynamic duo of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is sure to tickle your fancy!

Moving on to the topic of toys and collectibles, these items serve to further represent the franchise in diverse forms.
