Love Is Blind’s Stacy Snyder Comes Out as Queer in New Video

As a dedicated fan of reality TV shows, I have to say that Stacy Synder’s recent revelation about her sexuality has truly warmed my heart. Her journey on Love Is Blind may not have ended as she planned with Izzy Zapata, but it seems like she has found happiness off-screen.

The fifth season competitor of “Love Is Blind” shared a significant personal update with fans on August 28th, revealing their identity as queer in a heartfelt new video.

Stacy, the one who became engaged to Izzy Zapata during a Netflix dating show but ultimately ended their relationship before the wedding, shared a surprise video on Instagram with a rainbow emoji as the caption.

In the video, the celebrity can be seen relaxing at a table with a glass of wine as “Guess” by Charli XCX, featuring Billie Eilish, is playing in the background.

Discussion about Stacy’s relationship status scrolls across the video screen, presenting various possibilities such as “She has a boyfriend,” “She is single,” or “She is no longer relevant.”

On the screen, the message “She’s happy” appears, followed by a shot of a woman with flowing curls entering the picture and planting a hearty kiss on the 35-year-old, who then smiles broadly in response.

Of course, Stacy got plenty of love in the comments section from her pod squad and past seasons.

From season three, Nancy Rodriguez expressed, “I wish only the finest for my friend!”, and in season six, Chelsea Blackwell chimed in with an encouraging, “Keep shining, girl!”

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m thrilled to connect with all of you again! It’s fantastic to see everyone doing well. Zanab Jaffrey, a season three contestant, is reaching out too – she’s sending her best wishes and inviting us for a heart-to-heart chat! So, let’s catch up soon!

Later on, Stacy shared with her Instagram followers that she was taken aback by the overwhelmingly positive reactions her post received.

She openly confessed that she was incredibly nervous to share her post today, and she was left almost speechless by the response. She wasn’t anticipating such positivity. Instead, she was bracing for a barrage of negativity, which she often encounters. But to her surprise, it was genuinely refreshing, a pleasant shift. So, thank you. I appreciate all of you.

Despite the title “Love Is Blind” suggesting a blind approach to love, it’s interesting to note that just one contestant throughout its six seasons has openly discussed their sexuality on-camera. In the first season, Carlton Morton, after proposing to his partner Diamond Jack, disclosed post-engagement that he identifies as bisexual. This revelation unfortunately marked the end of their relationship.

Previously, Chris Coelen, the brain behind the popular series, acknowledged the enthusiasm among fans for a season featuring LGBTQ+ characters. However, he pointed out that there could be practical issues involved with such a storyline.

Chris shared with The Hollywood Reporter in July 2023 that it’s impossible to please everyone, as he fielded suggestions about creating a queer version of “Love Is Blind”. While he’d be open to the idea, he emphasized the importance of careful planning. He explained that simply transposing the structure of the straight version wouldn’t work for a queer cast. Instead, it would require a unique approach, as everyone would need to be separated, making it a distinct and separate experience.
