Unfortunately, no release date for the upcoming episodes has been disclosed yet, but he did hint at more mischief to come.

“Hello, I’m Joe Bob Briggs, and today we find ourselves in the heart of Deliverance territory,” Joe Bob mentioned. “We’re deep in the woods getting ready for the Nightmareathon tomorrow, and exciting news has just reached us – The Last Drive-In is being renewed for a seventh season! This means another year of exploring the depths of cinema, from fantastic films to mediocre ones and downright terrible ones. Expect plenty of fun and antics too. According to Briggs, the news arrives a day prior to “The Last Drive-In: Nightmareathon,” set to begin on August 30th at 9 pm Eastern Time on Shudder TV.

What Is the Nightmareathon?

On Friday night, starting when darkness falls, The Last Drive-in is planning an unprecedented event – a six-movie marathon that spans the entire night. This epic film fest, called Nightmareathon, will conclude as dawn breaks on Saturday morning.

Joe Bob Briggs, Darcy the Mail Girl, and some unexpected visitors are planning an all-night party reminiscent of wild jungle creatures for “The Last Drive-In: Nightmareathon”. This is a 24-hour marathon event that marks six years and six seasons, featuring six terrifying movies, as if tailored by the devil himself.

On “The Last Drive-In”, the renowned drive-in movie critic, Briggs, presents an array of unique horror films. He discusses their qualities, backgrounds, and importance to the genre of cinema. Fans can catch fresh episodes from Season 6 every other Friday evening on Shudder and AMC+. To wrap up season six in a uniquely “The Last Drive-In” style, they’ll host a special six-movie marathon called “The Last Drive-In: Nightmareathon“.
