Leah Remini and Husband Angelo Pagán Share Reason Behind Breakup

As a devoted admirer who has closely followed Leah Remini’s journey for years, I find myself moved by her and Angelo Pagán’s decision to part ways after 28 years of companionship. It’s heartwarming to see two individuals who have evolved over time, recognizing that the roles they once played no longer fit them and making a difficult yet courageous choice.

Leah Remini and Angelo Pagán are sharing some insight into a difficult decision.

For over two decades, these ex-partners, who had been a couple for 28 years and were married for 21, declared on August 29 their intention to part ways through divorce, having been married for so long.

Releasing a joint statement on the topic, the exes explained what led to the decision to file.

“In simpler terms, we evolved like most people do, finding ourselves in roles that no longer suited us. After careful deliberation and much thought, we have chosen to make this change, which aligns with who we are at present.”

Regardless of their decision to part ways, Leah (age 54) and Angelo (age 55), parents of Sofia (age 20), have decided to celebrate the upcoming holidays together. They emphasize that their connection remains strong; it has simply transformed into a new form.

The actress from “The King of Queens” and her long-term spouse expressed that they view their marriage as an extraordinary achievement, and they also shared insights on why they choose to be transparent about changes in their relationship dynamics.

“They expressed a desire for people to have a greater chance to explore diverse tales about partnerships, avoiding feelings of seclusion when dealing with the annual adjustments experienced by countless couples. They aspire that our own experiences might motivate others to understand that relationships, regardless if they evolve or conclude, are not indicative of failure.”

A significant shift that the ex-couple encountered over the past few years was transitioning into empty nesters, as their common child – Angelo – moved on to college. He has three other sons from his earlier relationships.

In February 2023, Leah shared with People that she moved her daughter into a dorm room, only to return home to an empty house, filled with sadness. The situation didn’t turn out as expected, resulting in us having our daughter back for some additional months. As reported in January, we had already moved her to another college and apartment. It has been several weeks since she left for the second time, and my husband and I are even more disorganized now.
