As a seasoned gamer and avid fan of George R.R. Martin’s epic universe, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and apprehension upon hearing about the upcoming rectifications for House of the Dragon. With the series coming to an end with Season 4, it seems we are in store for a bumpy ride between Seasons 2 and 3.
As a devoted fan of House of the Dragon, I can’t help but share my excitement about George R.R. Martin addressing the issues he found with our beloved series. The second season wrapped up this summer, and while we eagerly await Season 3, it looks like production won’t start until early 2025. The finale of Season 2 was a bit subdued on the action front, leaving some of us a tad disheartened. However, when the mastermind behind the Game of Thrones universe speaks up about areas he feels need improvement, it definitely piques our curiosity.
George R.R. Martin recently wrote a blog post about House of the Dragon. The article delves into his recent stay in Santa Fe for “Zozobra’s Burning” (also known as the original Burning Man to those unfamiliar with the term). Besides discussing this event, Martin also touches upon the challenges faced by everyone globally. He states that 2020 has been a difficult year marked by wars, rising fascism, and on a personal note, he’s had a particularly tough time himself, filled with stress, anger, conflict, and defeats.
Later on, he shifts his focus towards certain matters that have been distressing him throughout the year, and expresses his reluctance about addressing them in upcoming posts, including ‘House of the Dragon’. “I am not eager to write future posts concerning all the issues with HOUSE OF THE DRAGON… yet I must, and I will,” George expresses. “However, TODAY is dedicated to Zozobra, a time when we divert from melancholy.”
