As a fan who has witnessed Kevin Owens’ incredible journey over the past eight years, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and empathy as he prepares to challenge Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship at WWE Bash in Berlin.

As a devoted fan, I can’t hide my excitement as Kevin Owens prepares to take on Cody Rhodes for the prestigious WWE Championship at “WWE Bash in Berlin.” This is his first opportunity to fight for a world championship since the epic clash at the 2023 WWE Royal Rumble. Despite being one of WWE’s most consistent main event players for the past eight years, Owens has only managed to claim a single world title, his stint as the Universal Champion from September 2016 to February 2017. Since tasting the thrill of a world title seven years ago, he’s put everything on the line nine times in pursuit of a brand’s ultimate honor, but unfortunately, each attempt ended in defeat.

The Prizefighter didn’t enjoy when he actually acquired prizes.

In a chat with CBS Sports, Kevin Owens reminisced about his fixation with titles in the early days of his WWE career, confessing that he wasn’t content during those years.

Speaking of accolades, they are indeed a great source of flattery and satisfaction. However, what kept me from being too fixated on this aspect was the period between 2015 and 2018. During that time, I held various titles like Intercontinental Champion, US Champion, Universal Champion. Yet, even though I was always a champion, I never felt content. I always craved more, always yearned for something bigger to happen the following week.

During his initial years, Kevin Owens was almost always spotted with a title in his possession. Just two months following his WWE debut, he claimed the NXT Championship. Two months after giving up that title, Owens secured the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Four months later, he won the WWE Universal Championship. Two months post this championship loss, Owens clinched the WWE United States Championship.

After completing a match, I found myself wondering, “What does next week hold?” The folks I conversed with would respond, “I’m not sure what next week brings; we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.” To be honest, I didn’t derive as much pleasure from it as I should have.

On August 31st, starting at 1 PM ET, Owen is set to face off against Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship during the WWE Bash in Berlin. This exciting event takes place this coming Saturday!
