As a gamer with over two decades of immersion in the world of cinema, I have to say, the anticipation for ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ is reaching new heights (pun intended). The latest teaser has left me absolutely smitten, and I can hardly contain my excitement.
Even though “Joker: Folie ? Deux” doesn’t hit theaters for another over a month, we’ve been given another sneak peek of the upcoming sequel. On Friday, Warner Bros. unveiled a fresh teaser featuring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga in their roles. This new teaser offers one of our best glimpses yet into the highly anticipated sequel, following closely on the heels of recently revealed posters for the film. You can watch it below.

The trailer offers multiple glimpses of Lady Gaga portraying Harley Quinn. More recently, Francine Maisler, the movie’s casting director, expressed her excitement about viewers being astonished by Lady Gaga’s acting skills, praising her as “exceptional” in the film and predicting that she will leave a lasting impression on everyone, saying she will “astonish you.”
In simpler terms, Maisler said to those present, “She’s incredibly talented in this field, you all should know. She’ll leave you astonished. I didn’t come up with the idea to cast her. That was Todd Phillips’ idea before me. But let me tell you, she exceeded expectations – and she’s truly impressive. When I saw her performance, I was genuinely surprised. We knew what she could do in ‘A Star is Born’, but I thought, ‘Well, that seems fitting.’ But this… She’s phenomenal. Joaquin Phoenix leaves you amazed, but the fact that she can match him and remain authentic – without being overshadowed by her role or performance – shows her talent.”
Joker 2 is Not a Musical According to Todd Phillips
From the footage released so far, it appears that music and dance play a significant role in the film “Joker: Folie ? Deux“. However, the director Todd Phillips has clarified that the movie isn’t a musical. Instead, he explained that the majority of the musical sequences occur within the mind of Arthur Fleck.
Phillips stated, “I don’t intend for people to perceive it as similar to ‘In The Heights‘, where a woman in the store begins singing and everyone moves outside, with police dancing. I adore ‘In The Heights‘, but I want to clarify that’s not what we’re aiming for.”
“Gaga pondered, ‘What circumstances would allow two individuals to suddenly burst into song during a chat?’ She questioned, ‘From where does the music originate if only the characters can hear it? Both Arthur and Lee aren’t trained vocalists, and their singing shouldn’t sound polished.'”
What is Joker: Folie ? Deux About?
The sequel to “Joker” will be a musical that focuses on the distorted relationship between Arthur Fleck and Harley Quinn. A significant portion of the film is anticipated to unfold within Arkham Asylum. Titled “Joker: Two Crazed Ones,” it is helmed by director Todd Phillips, featuring Zazie Beetz, Brendon Gleeson, Catherine Keener, and Jacob Lofland in prominent roles.
