As a long-time fan, it’s always a treat to witness the camaraderie between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who have graced our screens as Deadpool and Wolverine respectively. Their friendship is not just limited to their on-screen personas, but extends off-screen as well, creating a bond that feels more like watching best friends than actors.
This week, actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, famously known for portraying Deadpool and Wolverine respectively, engaged in a friendly game of Guess Who with their past co-stars. MTV Asia invited them to reminisce about the good old days, providing us viewers with an entertaining trip down memory lane. In this unique twist on the classic children’s game, each actor was provided cards featuring the face of a single past co-star. The challenge for Jackman and Reynolds was to identify the movie they were from and their real names. Even though things seemed to be going smoothly, Ryan Reynolds struggled to recognize Blake Lively as his initial clue, admitting he tries to erase the Green Lantern movie from his memory.
The entire video is a lot of fun as Reynolds struggle to remember all those movies he’s been in. Jackman fares a little bit better but still comes up fuzzy on a couple of key names. At one point, the Deadpool actor almost lets one of the high-profile cameos from Deadpool & Wolverine slip. (It’s all right because Jackman quickly gets him back on track before saying, what we can only assume is Chris Evans’s name.) Hugh Jackman & Ryan Reynolds’ Friendship
These two actors are genuine, off-screen companions, as evidenced in the video above and even more so when they discuss their friendship. An interview conducted by People Magazine revealed some touching moments between them. Reynolds expresses a sincere desire to assist his friend in every way possible, and this sentiment is returned.
In his conversation with his closest friend, Reynolds expressed that a lasting friendship in Hollywood isn’t much different from being in a relationship or marriage. “Ever since I first met Hugh Jackman,” he said, “I’ve been genuinely cheering you on at all times. I want you to succeed. You are someone who frequently puts others before yourself, and it’s not just an act. I observe this behavior of yours in the quiet moments as well as the loud ones. To me, you’re like a superhero ready to catch a ticking bomb and fly off into space, sacrificing yourself to save everyone. People will always be amazed, saying ‘He saved us again! He did it again!'”
“I truly appreciate those traits of yours and find them endearing,” the Deadpool star went on. “Ever since our encounter in Sydney, I’ve been cheering you on. I hope you can live a life brimming with joy and vitality as much as possible. It’s how I feel about Blake too. As I cheer her on, I know she’s doing the same for me, which is why we share such a strong bond.”
