As I delve into these intriguing tales of love, longing, and a touch of drama, I can’t help but feel a sense of empathy for each couple embarking on this reality TV journey.
In search of solutions to alter their behavior, as their partners are growing weary of their actions, Olivia Attwood steps in to assist!
In an innovative ITV2 show titled “Bad Boyfriends,” eight men believe they’re participating in a series about masculinity, but find themselves on a Greek island for reasons beyond their expectation. The twist unfolds as Olivia reveals the actual purpose – and to their surprise, their girlfriends are there too, having secretly enrolled them in this TV program!
Over the span of 11 installments, the young men will participate in a sequence of tasks tailored to help them change their behaviors and ultimately strive for the title of the most transformed partner.
In conversation about the behavior of the young actors, Olivia referred to their activities as “bold” or “daring”.
However, Olivia consistently portrays that the boys might not be inherently evil individuals, but rather poor partners in the series.
“She confessed she found it difficult not to dislike them,” she said. “However, what stands out about these boys is their mischievousness and overstepping boundaries, yet they remain likable and not truly despicable individuals.”
This fresh series introduces us to couples brimming with firm affection, wit, and a fair share of playful trickery. Who exactly are these pairs immersed in this new show?

Anya and Bayley
Ages: 28 and 26
From: Surrey
Occupations: Salon owner and Operations manager
You might have come across Anya and Bayley before; they’ve both made appearances on reality TV shows, specifically “Ex on the Beach” and “Love Island.”
Anya chose to nominate Bayley for the program since it seemed like “he was running out of chances, and a shift was required.”
She clarified, “Occasionally, he should understand that he made mistakes. He ought to acknowledge his responsibilities for his actions and comprehend the ordeal he subjected me to.”
Inquired about his reaction upon discovering the real intent behind the program, Bayley confessed that he wished there was a void to envelop him instead!
He went on to say: “The events of the first night surprised me with some unexpected turns, but what truly left me astounded was discovering that our girlfriends were part of the outing. I was taken aback. Anya avoided looking me straight in the eyes, which told me I was in a pickle!”
Carly and Tom J
Ages: 23 and 25
From: Rotherham and Barnsley
Occupations: Content creator and Bricklayer/labourer
Carly openly acknowledged that she and Tom should challenge their comfort zones, and Bad Boyfriends presented an excellent chance for them to do exactly that!
“Carly mentioned earlier, ‘Have you thought about therapy, Tom?’ This situation seems to have arisen as a result. Sometimes having an outsider to hear our discussions can be beneficial, and in this case, it provided us just that.”
1. Tom can’t wait for everyone to watch the series unfold, hinting that he believes it could resonate with many viewers and potentially offer valuable insights, especially for couples who might find relatable experiences or lessons within it.
Ryan and Sapphia
Ages: 29 and 30
From: North West London and West London
Occupations: Music producer and Financial recruitment
Following her engagement, Sapphia realized that there were numerous issues Ryan needed to address prior to their wedding, which was one of the primary factors motivating her to recommend him for the program.
She clarified: “We share a home, but he doesn’t contribute much to the household chores. I believe he might not fully grasp the need for financial responsibilities – he seems more focused on living in the moment and enjoying himself. His flirting behavior is excessive, and it needs to be curbed before we get married.”
When Ryan discovered the true nature of the show he was participating in, he showed a state of shock, or put differently, he was taken aback. As he put it, “Although I was grinning and chuckling, that’s usually a sign of my unease.”
“I’m currently in a committed relationship, but I didn’t sense any significant issues between us.”
Lana and Tom T
Ages: 23 and 25
From: Bromley
Occupations: Merchandiser and Roofer
Lana chose to put Tom up for Bad Boyfriends because she felt like she was “another mother to him”.
She expressed her feelings as follows: “From now on, neither I nor his mother will be responsible for retrieving his underwear. I’m tired of preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner each time I encounter him. It would be wonderful if he could cook me a roast dinner instead of always needing assistance.”
Regarding Tom, it was clear that he acknowledged there were specific areas he needed to improve upon during his time on the program.
Inquired about his emotions upon discovering the actual intent of the performance, Tom responded honestly, acknowledging that he is generally a caring partner, yet admitting there were areas where he could have grown and made improvements.
1. “I didn’t entirely believe it; I took it with a grain of skepticism. Initially, I was taken aback by surprise. However, I had an enjoyable time.”
Ruben and Liily
Ages: 27 and 26
From: Dublin and Brazil, but Liily now lives in Dublin
Occupations: Car salesman and Student
Admitting that Ruben wasn’t a terrible boyfriend, Liily felt they “had a lot to work on”.
She mentioned that she initially assumed the problem was Ruben’s flirtatious behavior, but it appears the actual issue revolves around poor communication.
Initially, Ruben was thrilled to be part of the television program. However, when he learned its true nature, he acknowledged it required some effort to adapt, or in simpler terms, it turned out to be quite an adjustment for him.
“In the end, it turned out to be incredibly beneficial, and I’m genuinely thrilled to have been involved. I’m thankful for having gone through that journey.”
Jordi and Sam
Ages: 28 and 31
From: Manchester
Occupations: Gym brand owner and Roofer
Jordi proposed Sam for the show as a “final option.” After stating they’d “already exhausted all other possibilities,” Jordi elaborated that the pair faced “a multitude of problems that required resolution before moving forward.”
“[It was] the last resort to see what happens and hopefully make our relationship better.”
As for the show, viewers are in store for a great deal of drama, thrill, and romance, as per Sam’s statement. He hinted that it will take an unforeseen turn.
Viktor and Maria
Ages: 27 and 23
From: Essex, with Viktor originally from Bulgaria
Occupations: Music teacher and Influencer marketing manager
After spending six years side by side, Maria is eager to take their relationship to the next level – however, the ring hasn’t shown up, which is why she nominated Viktor for the role.
Maria shared, “We’ve been a pair for six years now, and within that time, he presented me with a promise ring.”
Four years have passed, and there’s still no sign of an engagement ring. Whenever I inquire about the situation, he always seems to find reasons or excuses.
It’s high time we move past any hesitations and clarify some important questions – Are you genuinely considering marriage with me, or does the thought of commitment make you uncomfortable?
“I really wanted to put Viktor in that situation so he knows actually why he’s here.”
Viktor admitted he was “very surprised” when he learned the real reason he was on the show.
“He mentioned that he had many unanswered queries, but it turned out to be a delightful surprise when he spotted his girlfriend; he was genuinely pleased to lay eyes on her.”
Anna and Eli
Ages: 24 and 43
From: Leeds
Occupations: Sales manager and CEO of a supercar dealership
It appears that Anna and Eli seem to get along well, but since Anna received cautions from other women regarding Eli’s history, she has started experiencing trust concerns in their relationship.
“Anna said, ‘I nominated Eli because he often speaks without thinking and ends up saying something incorrect or awkward.'”
“He doesn’t always behave appropriately on social media, particularly when it comes to direct messages on Instagram, liking posts, watching videos, and even sending me videos featuring other women.”
While being excited about being part of the series, Eli admitted he also feels “apprehensive”.
As a novice to television appearances, I find myself stepping into the limelight for the first time. This unfamiliar territory presents an entirely fresh and exciting experience.
Instead of shying away from the chance, I seized it and I’m grateful I did so. Being adventurous by nature, I immersed myself completely in it.
Olivia Attwood’s Bad Boyfriends starts on Sunday 1st September at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
